Not sure if their was a thread started last nite or today, if so merge, but I didnt see it. Anyhow is anyone a little worried about the lack of QB pressure we have gotten the last few weeks? Not that it was great for the 1st half of the year, but seeing Miami doesnt blitz alot they got enough pressure. And with our secondary being average/decent, pressure is key. Obv Porter has been invisible the last 2 weeks, but noone else has stepped up. Love what I see in Langford as far as potential, granted his 2 sacks and 18 tackles arent staggering, but you can see the potential definetely there. But hes not a big pressure guy, or at least right now isnt. Holliday has been somewhat disspointing to me this year, inconsistent, has had a few big games but games were he isnt anywhere. But with these last 4 games basically all must wins when you look at Indy's schedule (they are all but 1 of the WC's), and NE's sched fairly easy, and Balt having a very tough sched BUT being a game ahead AND having beat us. And I think that if Pasqualoni doesnt maybe shake it up even alittle with some blitzes as he finally started doing a couple times in the game yesterday with Crowder and Allen, but they dont do it much. And if Miami doesnt get to th QB a bit more they may be in a bit of trouble. Esp on the road in December in 2 tough environments in the last 2 games where our offense prob wont light it up. Just thought Id throw it out there, not earth shattering news, easy to see, and Im hoping they can do alittle bit more.

it does worry me some. i think after the new england game though teams will throw 5 wide sets at us so it limits our blitz packages we can throw in. im sure we will have no problem getting after edwards or losman next week. so our worries will subside:hi5:

Yea Phin, I agree about next week whether Losman or Edwards. And obv the Rams just dot have the talent to spread it out. But KC can throw it around a bit and also the Jets can spread it out as well. We'll see, hopefully we can get some more pressure on the QB in the last 4 games here.

Here are Miami's team sack numbers over their past 4 games:
3 sacks against the Seahawks
5 sacks against the Raiders
2 sacks against the Patriots
0 sacks against the Rams

So basically, they had one down game.

And when you factor in that our top sack artist, Joey Porter, was matched up against Hall of Famer to be Orlando Pace, it makes the goose egg more understandable.

The idea that we've somehow stopped getting quarterback pressure in the second half of the season is not really accurate. We just had a down game.

Sacks arent the be all end all. Im talking about consistent pressure. Sacks are great but dont tell the story of a consistent pass rush and making the QB move around. If you think theyve been pressuring the QB well over the last few games then I dont know what your watching.

opposing qb's had all week to throw on us the last couple games. our blitzing has become predictable because of the stale defensive play calling. it is a cause for concern.
