Just to let everyone know that one of the top QB prospects in college football will be on ESPN2 tonight. If he comes out for the draft this year, he'll probably be the next QB taken after Leinart. I think if we are in the market for a QB by draft time next year, he's definetly someone we should look at.

Last year (2004) he threw for 4002 yds, 41 TD's and 4 INT's for Bowling Green.

So far this year (2005) in two games he's thrown for 886 yds, 10 TD's and 2 INT's.

He's also from South Florida so I think he'd love be in a Dolphins uniform :)

Bowling Green vs. Boise St. at 8:00 PM on ESPN2

Depends on how you feel about Wisconsin. Brian Calhoun the RB there has gone buckwild running the ball, and their defense has played lights out against everyone except Omar Jacobs.

does bowling green play any real teams or just mediocre teams.
Last year they played against #2 Oklahoma and he threw 24-41 for 218 yds with 2 TD's and 0 INT's.

Damnit!!! I was going to say that. This is the QB that we need not vince young from Texas. :D

No thank you, I'll take Leinart, Young, Pinegar, or Leak before shot-put man.

makes sense to take young over jacobs. who the hell wants a quarterback that can throw the ball anyway?

Obviously you haven't paid much attention to Young's actually throwing in games this year. I use to believe he couldn't throw either, until i actually watched him on TV instead of read the magazine and stat column.

I'd take Randall Cunningham over Danny Wuerfell anyday.

Funny, you're impressed by Young despite his release but not impressed by Jacobs because of his release. They have basically the same release, except Jacobs cosnsitently gets WAY more velocity on the ball, and never shows any signs of poor accuracy due to the release.

Funny thing about a release, what you worry about is the chances of it getting batted down (1), the detriment the poor mechanics may have on the ball's velocity (2), the detriment the poor mechanics may have on the ball's accuracy (3), and the quickness and/or awkwardness of the release in the face of pressure (4).

While Vince Young's poor mechanics have visibly hurt him in categories 2 and 3, Omar Jacobs poor mechanics have yet to visibly hurt him consistently in any of the four categories.

Really? Didn't know you were the official voice of reason on QB mechanics. I don't see anything comparable in their mechanics, they are far from "the same release", I don't agree one bit. Young's release comes out a little low, next to his ear, but it is still a full wind up and follow through. He throws a lot like Aaron Brooks. Jacobs...I don't know what the hell that monstrousity is...only thing it reminds me of is Wuerfell's God awful motion. My arm hurts just watching Jacobs throw.

...and Bowling Green has never played a fifth of the competition Texas has.

..and I am impressed more by Young because he brings more to the table as an athlete and with big game experience. I'll even say he is a stronger leader and shows more of an "it" factor.

I agree completely..... Young is a great athlete, but nothing but a poor man's Vick, and Vick by the way is very overrated as a QB. Omar Jacobs mechanics are far better then Young's when it comes to their releases. and must I add very well put CK!

Young can throw, but jacobs is better passer. I have watched both. Young is the overall better athlete, but Jacobs is teh better qb.

A - Comparing Jacobs and Wuerful is a ridiculous and flat out bs comparison. Young is not a great passer, all his passes are set by teh fact that teams worry about his running. Jacobs throws a strong, accurate ball.
