QB Starter Fitzpatrick out indefinitely

Everyone's favorite commentator, Homer Kelly, says Rosen is Miami's "Drew Brees", when they trade him off, of course. Rudock tried out but is not signed. Tua is still grasping the system, but both Rosen and Tua are doing good.

Oh man. First and foremost, I hope this isn't anything health related with Fitz or his family.

I have no doubt they will hold on to Rosen. In fact if Fitzpatrick is out for an indefinite period of time, as is being reported. I expect it will be Rosen who will be starting against the Patriots and in the early part of the season.
I don’t think the coaching staff is in any hurry to start Tua. Besides the fact he had major hip surgery less than a year ago, Tua is still trying to learn the offense and they need to see how the offensive line plays in an actual game before even thinking about playing Tua.

Pressed again about how long Fitzpatrick could be out, Flores was non-committal.

“When you are dealing with personal matters, it’s case by case,” Flores said. “I’m going to support my players. However much time they need with specific situations, that’s what they’re going to get. We all should have an understanding from that standpoint. Some things take precedent. I’m going to respect that”

Asked if Rosen is ahead of Tagovailoa, Flores declined to answer. “Rosen is doing a good job, Tua is doing a good job,” Flores said.

When does Rosen stand?

“He’s had a lot of good moments so far,” Flores said. “We will see how it goes. Experience helps for sure. We don’t have preseason games but we will try to create situations to see whether their decision making process is where he wants it to be. He’s putting the work in to do that. So are all the quarterbacks.

They will be getting more snaps in TC than they wolud have otherwise, which has to help.

Let’s hope all is OK with Fitz and his family. He may not be Dan Marino behind center, but he’s a good guy by all accounts. I’m definitely rooting for him.
