QB Terrelle Pryor - will play any position he's asked

I don't think we have a 5th round pick next year (Bush), but I'd throw a 6th rounder for him. He could be a wild cat QB with the ability to throw/developmental QB. He would see more action than Pat Devlin/O'Connel

Do you actually disagree or are you just trying to take a shot at me for stating what should be obvious?

No not at all, I'd really love to hear all your insights on the nuances of the complicated nature of the National Football League.

I only played High-School ball and Pryor only played the most complicated position in football at one of the biggest programs in the country, So I'm sure our knowledge pales in comparison. I love to learn.

I'd like to give him a try as a TE. I mean even if he's not ready this year to do anything until week 5, I wouldn't expect him to be very good had we got him in the regular draft. So, basically give him a year to learn a new position, and bam- next season we can unleash our new seam threatening TE...

wishful thinking.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I've seen more of Pryor than anyone who is a member of this forum...outside of any other Buckeye fans here who live in Ohio.

Personally, I think he's a punk. On the field, he has, at a minimum, as much 'upside' as Cam Newton, and has played in MANY more big games than Newton. Is he going to be an NFL QB? Who knows? Everyone knows and pretty much acknowledges what type of "athlete" he is, but you'd all be surprised...the kid actually CAN throw a football, and with some decent touch too. I watched him make some pretty amazing throws during his time at OSU.

I'm guessing that most of the people here are basing their opinions of Pryor largely on what they're reading or hearing about his play from Sportscenter.

All that said, given his maturity level, I'm not sure Miami is a good place for him. As far as quarterbacks on our roster, I'd much rather see us spend time developing Devlin.

Maybe some of the guys on our team would be a good influence to him... Whip his punk *** into shape

There's more involved in being a "Kellen Winslow type" than merely being big, and fast, and a douchebag. Football, believe it or not, is more complicated than that.

So is reggie Bush a doucebag since he probably did more than Terrel pryor just asking

not sure why u would rather us try to develop Devlin who proved much less in college than pryor but everyone has an opinion. I say draft Pryor and keep devlin on practice squad I like em both as developmental guys. I remember wanting matt Cassel pretty bad as a late pick and am quite bothered that he became a damn good qb.

With all the teams at his workout, and for him to preform like he did.. someone is going to overpay, and that won't be us. So we can dream about him being our star freak TE but we're gonna have to get that guy some where else at another time.

Most may not be aware but, in addition to leading his Jeannette Jayhawks to a State Championship in football, he also led them to a State Championship in Basketball during his Senior year. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/breaking/s_557460.html

While being a good basketball player doesn't necessarily mean that he can play any position in the NFL, it does demonstrate just how talented of an athlete he is. You often find that football players that were once elite basketball players have great hands (exhibit A = Antonio Gates, among others). Pryor had multiple offers to play college basketball (most notably for Pitt), but chose football once he broke out his Junior year. He became the number 1 recruited high school player in 2008. Not only does the kid have elite speed (4.36), he has a respectable vertical of 31" and good hands.

I'd take this kid in a heartbeat. Let him learn the QB position for the rest of this season. Perhaps he could be used sporadically in a Wildcat type package. If by next preseason he doesn't show any potential that would necessitate keeping him at QB, move him to TE or WR. His size, speed, athleticism and hands will almost guarantee success at that position. IMO, it's worth the risk of a 3rd or 4th round pick. In regards to losing a 3rd or 4th for next season? It's simply as though you are drafting him in advance, so you aren't losing anything. If he wasn't declared eligible for this draft, he'd be available for the draft next fall and using a 3rd or 4th round pick on him then wouldn't be that far-fetched.

This kid is a football player, regardless where he plays. Pryor, along with Reggie Bush and Clyde Gates, would give Miami some serious speed on offense. Go get him.
