Rivers doesn't have a strong arm and isn't athletic. These are real concerns and any fan who tells you he knows Rivers is the real deal is kidding himself. He's barely played in 2 years. He's like Kosar, no QB who throws side arm or 3/4 has a great arm. It would be one thing if Rivers has quick feet but apparently he doesn't. Rivers has savvy and smarts but his GM is a tough SOB who will make it hard to trade for him. Those factors don't bode well for a trade to Miami. We need to keep our 1st rounder to spend on defense next year.

Look up the stats yesterday for Brees, Trent Green and Matt Hasselback. The first two weren't "good enough" to draft or trade for. The third would have cost too much. Dave Wannstedt should be fired again.

Mentioning Brady Quinn or Vince Young's names for this draft is ridiculous. Repeat after me, Greg Cote, "they like where they're playing and want to stay next year."

Let's hope Saban learns from this. He didn't like Charlie Frye who showed more in one series than matt Roth has all year. You have to draft QB's every couple of years. They have to move up/down enough to get one of the second tier guys like Culter or Pinegar.

The first guy who runs a we should have drafted Braylon Edwards thread doesn't get to eat this week.

RIVERS=Superbowl in Miami.......PERIOD! The man is the next Marino. HE's awesome. I'm tired of hearing about mechanics. Geeesh. Yeah, you're a QB coach.

You're a funny guy. Calm down.
Emotional arguments don't work. Arm strength can't be faked. He doesn't have it and Miami isn't the only team worried about this.

Marino would have beaten out Brees in San Diego so please don't even try that comparison. Two totally different QB's.

If as Cote says, Miami doesn't like Rivers than fine. But to call him stiff and unathletic is stupid. Everytime I saw the guy play he was the outstanding player on the field, by far. They called Marino a "pusher", saying he didn't have an arm. A lot of people called him stiff as well. Not comparing Rivers to Marino, but no need to over analyze this guy, just look at what he does on the field. He has the mind to play QB, which is everybit as important as the physical gifts necessary to play the position.

Yeah he really sucks, I mean he was only what the #2 picked QB in the best QB class to come out in a long time. I mean dont you think maybe the scouts would have said "man he has a horrible arm" and he would have been picked a lot lower.

The guy has talent and he is going to be a good NFL QB to whatever team he goes to. I would rather have a QB that is accurate than one that can throw the ball 80 yards. You throw a lot more passes in the 10-30 yard range than you do in the 30+ yard range. If he is accurate with average arm strength then he is going to be fine in the NFL.

If Rivers doesn't "fit" Linehan's offense, then keep Rivers and THROW OUT LINEHAN AND HIS OFFENSE.
