who will our qb in o6 gus maybe brad johnson maybe john kinta maybe simms if we could get simms that would be the best choice

You know, i never thought about that trade. Madison for Shaub. That would be smart. But i however cant see this team getting Simms(tampa will resign), Carr(will be playing wiht bush next year) I do however believe that Saban will find us a Qb under the age of 30. We need a franchise Qb.

I know that everyone's speculation is that Carr will stay and resign because he was a former #1. I'm still not sold on that. Will the addition of Bush really make Houson a better team? He was a Capers product ( and a damn good one, too) plus it will cost Hou mucho dinero to retain him. They have started a new era of rebuilding. Couple that with the fact that he knows that there is only room for limited improvement on his O line which has been responsable for bruises to muscles that he didn't even know he had. So I ask the experts why is his resigning a sure thing? Carr or Rivers will be the best men for our job, IMO. I hope that the front office sees it the same way.

I wouldn't mind keeping Frerotte for a year or two to groom a rookie that we can hopefully get in the draft.

Atlanta's not going to trade Schaub for Madison. Besides, Schaub doesn't fit our style of offense, his arm is not that good.

As for Kitna, the Bengals supposedly are willing to let him go because they want an upgrade. Doesn't make that prospect too exciting, if you ask me.

Cinci will probably overpay to keep Kitna now that Palmer is hurt. He should be ok but they say he wont play in preseason. They will want to keep Kitna for at least one more year in case Palmer isnt ready by the start of the season.

Simms Isnt going to leave TB if for the reason that TB will match any offer since he is a RFA. Shaub, depends on if Atl will trade and what the cost is. I only trade for a qb if they are sure Cutler isnt available when they draft. Keep Gus, draft Cutler.

Get McNair, get a young guy to groom. Keep Gus as a last resort for when McNair gets hurt.

dude your way off about that rivers being the best man....... what has he proven? the word around the league is that he doesnt have the arm to make all the big time throws. yeah he is smart and can disect. but where is his playing time? what are his (W-L) records? what are his stats in the pros? he wouldn't fit into Linehan's style O. i just dont think that a QB that hasn't shown anything can be the "BEST" man for our team

i do not understand people sometimes. with so much issues with qb's here, why the heck would anyone WANT MORE BACKUPS FROM OTHER TEAMS?!!! we are not going to get a FA Qb, we are drafting one. people need to realize, we havent been successful with any QB since marino, because we take other teams scraps at qb. we are drafting a QB of the future, so stop worrying about kitna, mcnair, carr, harrington, schaub. we are drafting our own qb to mold into the future.

I like Matt Schaub, if we can get him.

Since Sam Madison wants to go to Atlanta so much... ;)

I like it. I watched him fill in for Vick and i thought he did a great job. I f I were the falcons I'd give him a chance.

there's talk that Gary Kubiak... soon to be texans coach, is a native of Houston... and he's in love with Vince Young, also a native of houston... i would love to get David Carr.

with injuries to Brees and Palmer, rivers and kitna will carry a big price.. and i don't know if either of them are worth giving up a lot.

I'm pretty sure Gruden isn't stupid, and they'll keep Simms.

David Garrard? I'd dig it. and he'll have better weapons here.

Schaub? guy does look good with very mediocre playmakers... but i'm not really sure on the guy...

I don't think saban really wants to give up too much for a Qb, so i really think he'll trust Mueller to find a stud. Mueller found Delhomme in the 4th round or something.... anyone know of mueller's other picks? most notably people on offense.

You have a point with Carr, there is definite speculation that the 'obvious' choice of Bush is not so obvious. That said, Carr might be a good fit here, particularly if Linehan stays. Kubiak, who is the guy everyone says is getting that job, is a QB guru so he may not want to change guys out just yet.

Rivers would not be a good fit here. I loved Rivers coming out of college and think he'll be a very good QB somewhere, but not with this offense. He doesn't have the accurate deep ball that Linehan creates in his O. He is accurate with the short to intermediate passes and has the intangibles to be a good QB. He would excell in Norv Turners offense though. I'm not a fan of Turners. But, his system takes subpar QBs and makes them ok so he could be successful with Rivers.

Another guy that might be a good fit here is McCown (or McNown I don't remember his name..guy from the Cards). He's got a great deep ball, although tends to make some bonehead decisions on occasion. He also would likely be cheaper than Carr or Rivers. But he's a project that Linehan and Garrett would have to work with. This assumes they don't re-sign him there.

Kitna...to me he would have to be just a fill in for a young gun that we'd draft. He has proven, like Gus, that when in a fill in role he's fine but when the starter, can't seem to get it done consistently. To me, he's just another decent career backup QB..

Schaub is pretty good prospect, but his only experience both in college and pros is in the WCO...He looks to have a good arm and throws well on the run, but would probably take a season or two to mature into the position here.

Garrard would be another good option, but I'm not sure that Jax will part with him. He's mobile and got a good arm, throws well on the run.

I'm not too excited about getting a 'retread'...like Warner, Garcia, even McNair. (Ok, I'd take Brett Favre for a couple of years, but that's about it).

I guess the guy we end up with will be determined by who our OC is and who is really going to be available...For example, what does Saban do if he signs, say for example Carr, and then Cutler is still available to us at #16...On the other hand, what does he do if he just re-signs Gus and Lemon and Cutler is not available to us at #16...
