Parcells will certainly bring a QB in to compete with Beck, but who is even worthwhile?
Is Volek a FA? He is a better choice than Pennington.
Is Losman a possibility?
Grossman/Culpepper are putrid.
Not much out there.
 
Culpepper has stated he would like to come back to play for Miami. I think BP could bring him in as a backup if he is willing to take that role. Another option is Josh McCown of the Raiders. I wonder if BP thinks Beck is the future of this team? If not, I would entertain the idea of taking a close look at Charlie Whitehurst of the San Diego Chargers. Whitehurst was a pretty good Quarterback for Clemson and has been learning.
 
yes Volek is a FA but it seems that san diego is wanting to keep him unless we offer a good contract I dont see him coming here. As for Losman he still has one more year in his deal that means we would have to trade for him and I dont see parcells trading for someone who lost his job to a rookie maybe if he was a FA. the other two I wont even waste my time. Most qbs that are due to become FA are mostly veteran qbs in their last years with alot of miles on them if thats the case bring one in for the minimum and one year pref not a injury prone one
 
This is one of the main legitimate questions I have about our future. It's all up in the air. I believe Beck will come along within the next few years and I have a lot of faith in him, but we need some sort of veteran to mentor him. Green was a good idea at the time, but what happened to him was almost expected. I'm interested in seeing what route parcells will take with this position. I'm not really sure if we can even speculate at this point, but it sure will be interesting!
 
I think BP will bring back Daunte Culpepper i hope we dont but it will probly happen

ow is he a Bill Parcells guy??? Bledsoe... Pennington??? Simms... Pennington??? Romo... Pennington??? all those guys can go down field with an accurate strong arm. Bledsoe was a #1 pick from Parcells, and he had a cannon with accuracy.... Flacco???
 
why in the world would culpepper want to come back and to be a backup at best.

I don't deny any of that. My issue with Pennington is his history of injuries. He has had too many season ending injuries for my liking.
 
maybe Culppeper realizes that he is no longer coveted by teams as a starter and the only way he is going to find a job in the nfl is as a backup
 
I believe that John Beck will get one year to prove if he is a NFL starter. The only thing that makes me believe otherwise is the fact that he was Cam Cameron's essentially hand picked quarterback, he liked him more than Brady Quinn. Now Bill Parcells is trying to erase any memory of Cam Cameron from the team and this might mean not making John Beck the future. I hope he gets his shot and I think there is a very good chance of it. Remember Bill Parcells has reviewed all of his game tape and he even said he didn't do as bad as he originally thought, and he saw a lot of good things.

if what you are saying is true....then can we say goodbye to Ginn,Solai and the gang if after this season they dont step up?

yeah i know, but out of marshall he was fresh and ready... now he has had 2 shoulder surgeries (i believe 2), lost a lot in his arm, and definitely can't go downlfield anymore. many injuries.

but if he can come in and back up Beck, help him reading defenses, teaches him to read during dropback with the staff.... i do not mind that at all. Pennington always has seen the field very well.
 
was anyone else listening to 790 the ticket? armando salguero just said on his radio show that parcells doesn't like john beck and was sickened by what he saw from him on film last season. salguero was at the super bowl and after talking to a bunch of parcells' friends he doesn't think beck will get a sniff.
