What are expecting from Henne in his first start? First and foremost I want the win, but I wouldn't mind 17-26, 1td. with most of the emphasis be on the running game.
http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2009/10/whats-the-bar-for-chad-henne.htmlHere is a look at what some of Henne's young quarterback contemporaries did in their first ever NFL start:
Falcons QB Matt Ryan - 9-for-13, 161 yards, one touchdown, one sack in a 34-21 win over the Lions last year.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco - 15-for-29, 129 yards, four carries for 37 yards and one rushing touchdown in a 17-10 win over the Bengals last year.
Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez - 18-for-31, 272 yards, one touchdown, one interception and one fumble in a 24-7 win over Houston this year.
Lions rookie QB Matthew Stafford - 16-for-37, 205 yards, three interceptions, one sack, and one rushing touchdown in a 45-27 loss to New Orleans this year.
Here's what his new teammate, Tyler Thigpen did in his first NFL start last year.
Thigpen - 14-for-36 for 128 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions, two sacks, one fumble in a 38-14 loss to the Falcons last season.
And most importantly, the basement of the bar for Henne.
Former Dolphins quarterback John Beck, who was the last rookie starting quarterback for the Dolphins (yes, I know Henne isn't a rookie, but we should view him as one based on the fact he only really played in one game last season).
Beck - 9-for-22, 109 yards, and one fumble in a 17-7 loss to the Eagles.
