DANA POINT, Calif. -- The Dolphins want everyone to understand there is no quarterback controversy on the team because a healthy Chad Pennington will be the unquestioned starter at the beginning of the 2009 season, but it is equally set in stone that the team wants Chad Henne to be the starting quarterback by 2010.

I dont see how If Pennington has a season similiar to last Miami lets him go for Henne. I hope Pennington keeps playing at the high level he did last and when the time is right Henne comes in.

No Prob, always a pleasure and sorry for the Title thing.

Look who wrote the story none other then. (ARMANDO SALGUERO) the worst sports writer of all. I would not take anything he says or writes seriously he is always wrong just about everytime.

Agreed, but at some point, Penny will hit that wall again, so why wait for it when we can make a move towards the future. Penny has no long-term future with this team, so one more good year and it will be time for Henne. Simple as that.

The situation is very similiar to the situation in San Diego with Brees and Rivers. I cannot wait for the Pre-Season and Training Camp. Especially with the possibilty of having another WR and seeing how these QBs and WRs do with a second year of being together. I think this team is building excellent chemistry. Especially with the resignings of Carey, Bell and Crowder.

yea but Brees was young and still had a bunch of great years left.
Im all for keeping Chad P until he retires i hope he can stay and be a backup here once its the younger chads time

yea.
doubtful.
but he seems like the type who at the age of 34 35 would be ok with that.
There is not to much of a market for a starting qb who wins games but doesnt have a huge arm ask jeff garcia.
I think him being the backup would set him up nice for a qb coach job

If Chad has a similar year this year as he did in 2008 theres no way he is not the starter in 2010.

The guy has the highest completion % of any QB to ever play and he was 2nd overall in 2008 QB rating.

Its finally nice to have true QB since Marino retired and not some of the 20 plus scrub QB's the Dolphins have tried since Marino retired.

Its hard to think that after all these years of having crap at qb...ex...fiedler..lucas..etc and we finally have a qb that does a good job in Pennington that people are so quick to dismiss him for "potential". I agree I would love to see a stronger armed qb in there..BUT..Im in no hurry...were winning.

You must have missed the playoff game.

Pennington can only go so far. Everyone's hoping this is his shot at a ring because Henne needs to get in there. Ted Ginn Jr. agrees.

If it wasn't for Chad the Dolphins would have never made the playoffs. The OLine was awfull at run blocking and had to rely on the wild cat to run the ball.
