3 UP – Three things I believe we can hang our hat on this year.
- We no longer need to bite our nails over the RB position. After years, nay decades, of RB heartbreak for the Dolphins. Lorenzo Hampton, Sammie Smith, Mark Higgs, Karim Abdul-Jabbar, John Avery, Cecil Collins, and Ricky Williams. Barring catastrophy, the Dolphins finally have a RB they can count on for the next decade.
- We have a great goal line defense. In every game this year this unit has been impossible to run against. Yes, they’ve given up TD’s but never easily. The rest of the defense is a work in progress, let’s look forward to some consistency.
- We no longer need to punt just because it’s third and long. The Scott Linehan/Gus Frerotte lead offense has cured us of our third and long panic attacks. In the Jay Fiedler era anything longer than third and 6 was like trying to get a freebie from a hooker, even when it worked you felt dirty.
