Pete Prisco gives the Dolphins a "B"....However, it seems like Prisco has a hard-on for the Bucs this year.....

Coach of the quarter: Jon Gruden, Bucs. Who thought his team would be 4-0? Gruden can flat-out coach. Runners-up: Marvin Lewis, Bengals; Tom Coughlin, Giants; Tony Dungy, Colts.

Assistant coach of the quarter: Monte Kiffin, defensive coordinator, Tampa Bay Bucs. His unit is ranked first in the league. He gets better with age. Runners-up: Ron Meeks, defensive coordinator, Colts; Gregg Williams, defensive coordinator, Redskins; John Hufnagel, offensive coordinator, Giants.

Biggest surprise: (tie) Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Redskins. They're all undefeated. Who could have imagined that? Runners-up: Willie Parker, RB, Steelers; Packers at 0-4.

i saw the article, and i was kinda upset that he didn't mention Nick Saban even as a runner up for Best Coach...

Hey Pete, wake up -- Tampa Bay hasn't played anybody.

You just wish that people who cover football for a living would do a better job of realizing what is going on league wide. I agree Tampa deserves their props but with the teams we have beaten you would think Saban would at least be mentioned.
 
Well, I dont see a problem with the article, as far as the Fins not being mentioned we havent played a quarter of our schedule yet.

I totally agree. Who cares, Tampa Bay is doing better than us. They're 4-0, this is the NFL, anyone can win any giving sunday so who cares who they've played. I would LOVE to be 4-0 like the Bucs.

We are 2-1. We get to 4-1 and beat the Bucs then this team will get it's props.

He forgets to add that the Bucs and Cinci's opponents are a combined 6 and 24...:shakeno:

but Van, I believe when we beat Tampa, they will say just excactly what I stated above. maybe we will all get the respect at the end of the year. They will have to add that we had the toughest SOS...

Excatly, which makes this report creditless....If you;re going to publish something, publish it correctly...
 
Of course he is on the Buc bandwagon. I am surprised that he does'nt bend over and (never mind). The season is young and I look forward to seeing some of these sportswriters eat their words.
 
Things I a disagree with:

He loves the Bucs and gives them an A+, and gives them every possible award......but then admits at the end of the page that they were GIVEN A WIN against Detroit by the replay official. If you acknowledge the the FACT that they should have lost that game....then judge them accordingly.

Matt Jones as a runner-up for offensive rookie of the quarter???? 10 catches for 89 yards, 28 yards rushing, 0 TD's???? And that's in 4 games. Why even mention him??

Free agent pickups - - I think that K.Traylor and Kevin Carter both deserve some love in this category......how can anyone argue their role in lifting us from the bottom of the league in rush defense to having a LEAGUE BEST yards per carry against of 2.9
 
Just an opinion guys. If we beat the Bills then heads will be turning no doubt.
