Flashback....2003 Miami Finishes 10-6 and misses the playoffs. Cleveland finished 9-7 and went to the playoffs, because they won their division with that record.

So if we finish 9-7 or 10-6 and MISS the playoffs this year....was the 9 game winning streak be worth it? I mean really would it be?, what did the 6 game winning streak do for us last year except make us pick lower in the draft? So would it really be worth putting that streak together to miss the playoffs again, and pick even lower in the 2007 draft? Now I know nothing is guaranteed that we would miss the playoffs at 10-6...and yes I do hope we can win out and test this theory....but if we knew for sure that we would win out and still miss the playoffs....would it be worth it? What could we gain from it, that we didnt gain from the win streak last year....

Even if we dont make the playoffs it would be nice to make a bad season turn areound to a winning record.

Kind of like we did last season?

I Guess I'm Just A Die Hard Fan, But I Feels Like They Going To Do It.
10-6 Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm no pessimist, but 10-6 is very unlikely. Even with some strong and improved play I think we finish at 8-8. Have you seen our remaining schedule? 3 of the final 5 games of the season are division games and the other 2 are Jax and Indi. I'm hopeful but certainly not holding my breath.

A little realism says we'll be lucky to finish 6-10, sorry but one win doesn't forebode a 9 game win streak. If it wasn't for the lucky turnovers, Sunday win over Bears would have been a different story, we are still not playing well enough to win - particularly 9 in a row.

That being said (for the 100th time since last Sunday's win) I would prefer a 9-7 winning season even if it means we don't get as high a draft pcik but still miss the playoffs. Reason? First I want to win, and second I don't think we can afford another 1st ir 2nd pick in the first round against our salary cap issues. Even if we go 2-14 and pick first I would rather they trade it for two late first rounders or a late 1st and early 2nd round pick.

I'm tired of hearing about lucky turnovers. Dude, we won the damn game and thats all the matters. If the Bears would have beaten us, it would have been business as usual for them. But since we won...its obvious the bears are overrated and everything that happened was luck. God I hate that perspective.

This is the NFL, any team can beat any other team on any given Sunday...and thats what happened. The Bears are still very good and we're still struggling at 2-6. But we still won the game last Sunday, we played better, bottomline.

I guarentee you 10-6 with our remaining schedule would get us in. It would give us a tie breaker over Jacksonville and KC. I don't really think there is any one else bidding for that 6th seed, unless you want to consider the Jets contenders.

And yes, it would be awesome if we won 9 straight. Are you serious? How exciting would that be to turn it around like that and have a shot at the post season. I'd almost rather do that than have a normal playoff season.

I love your first paragraph man. I can't agree more with the notion that turnovers were created oppose to just being given to us. The fact is we were able to nuetralize the best defense in the NFL with a solid ground game. We didn't allow them to get the big turnover, despite Joey's best effort to give them picks in return for their own. Arizona allowed Chicago's defense to come out and win the game for them. They did this by having absolutely no run game, and being too conservative. We had an awesome running game that day and we were able to take shots when necessary. (Chambers TD.) Great win all around for the Fins last Sunday.

As for the whol 9-7, 10-6 issue. I think 9-7 would give you a shot. The AFC is tough but there are so many teams bidding for that spot, that they will essentially beat up on each other. Lets just go get some W's and see where we stand heading into Decemeber.

One thing is for sure. If this team has a chance going into December, that in itself is a miracle after the way we started this season. GO DOLPHINS!

hey, even though we missed the playoffs last year, it felt really good to be winning.

i hate when people bring up the problem of getting a lower draft pick if we win more games. we want to win because this franchise is one of the most winningest franchises in the league if not the most and we have a lot of pride in that. you play the damn game to win.

They've said the samething about the Pats for years and they've only won a few Superbowls being 'lucky' on TO's...so I'll take the W's anyway I can get'em.

Higher draft picks is the most OVERRATED thing in the NFL. Yea it would be nice to have the top pick . . . but not because of the players, because of what u can get for it. Man if we had the top pick, do u know what we could get from a team like Oakland who might fall in love with Brady Quinn. Lets say they pick 4th. We could snatch their number 1 from the current draft and the following one. Thats the only thing about picking high like that.

If u got a good scout team . . . u will find the impact player/STUD u need whether u pick 1st or 15th. I much rather win now, even if we go 10-6 and miss the playoffs . . . I would never forget this season, and it would keep me happy every day the rest of this year on into next year.
