Hey all I am sure you all have heard from me before. The question I have is I am looking at offseason players and was wondering if you all could give me a little help with Crowder. I know you all have saw more of him than I have so my question is Could he play a WLB in the 4-3 or is he strictly an ILB for the 3-4?

He has played outside and inside and is one of the few players that could be servicable almost anywhere at LB.

He played WLB in the 4-3** in his first year back when we still had Zach Thomas in the Middle. He looked pretty solid outside, i personally think he may be stronger as an OLB or MLB in the 4-3 rather than an ILB in the 3-4.

Edit: Meant to say 4-3.

I think Crowder would be more effective in the 4-3. But I don't know if even then he would be a "play making" LB.

I think he could be effective in a 4-3. That said, he doesnt make many big plays. He is a steady player, though. A missed tackle here or there, but overall, he will make the plays he is supposed to make. Just dont expect much more.

I personally believe that either the Dolphins or some other team will overpay him. I just dont see him as an elite LB, which is supposedly the money he is looking for.

some other team might overpay him,but we won't...

I would agree. Just put that in there so it didnt look like I was totally closing the door on the guy returning.

The media HAS been wrong before.

he will & can play inside or out
too much negativity heaped on a productive & important piece of the defense
they will resign him

like wilford? or starting right now?

To be fair, the FO didn't know Wilford would be such an enormous bust. He got a decent contract considering they were expecting the same production from him that he gave Jacksonville...

i would certainly hope they didn't pay him to sit on the bench. or overpay him, that is.

any chance we can get back the signing bonus,or some of the money Wilford got when he's cut? that way we can add it to our cap so we have a little bit more cap space?
