I notice in the Europe football league the fans like too bring and blow whistles during the game. The announcer mentioned this as a problem but I guess this is a traditional thing they do at soccer games. How in the world can the game be played when you don't know when the refs whistle is being blown too stop play? Will they ask them not too bring whistles too this game??

There are actually very few fans who take whistles to soccer games. I am a season ticket holder at Chelsea F.C. and I don`t think I`ve seen or heard a whistle there for many years. I doubt that there will be any whistles at Wembley.

I too am a season ticket holder at Chelsea F.C. and travel to home and away games.

I have never heard a whistle in the crowd. It's much more a mainland European thing, I heard it done in Portugal (Porto) and Spain (Valencia and Barcelona) last season.

Due to the slightly, ahem, 'militant' nature of football crowds over here, I don't think you'd last long in the stadium if you were blowing a whistle (!)

Nope. Im a Birmingham City fan and nobody takes whistles. Only whistling that takes place is when we want the referee to blow up and finish the game when we are winning by one goal usually. But thats whistling by mouth.

FanMarino: Looking forward to the first game of the season? Always like having your fans at the Bridge, proper support, no brightly coloured wigs etc...

Bring a whistle to a footie match and the fans around you might be on your *** within a matter of minutes.

I have seen alot flares brought to games in europe saw a goaltender get hit with one in Italy.I have to say you guys across the pond can bring lots of stuff into you stadiums flags, drums flares we could never do that here.Everytime I look in the stands at a european futbol game it looks like a giant party can wait to see what you guys do for the Dolphin Giant game

Fog horns baby. Fog Horns. 3rd down Giants......PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARP! hehe

I think the NFL will have a say in what security allows in. It will be tighter than your average soccer match I would assume.

I was at wembley 88 for the 49ers fins game, but being 8 years old i dont remember much about fog horns. i think i will have to check out the dvd i have of the game see what they did back then. Im thinking they will allow some things they wouldnt in the US into wembley. guess we will just have to see

I'm a season ticket holder at Southampton and I've never heard a whistle in the crowd. If someone was constantly blowing a whistle for 90mins they would more than likely get knocked out.

I was at the World Bowl a few years ago in Scotland and the German fans had all manner of noisemaking palaver with them; drums, fog horns, cowbells etc. etc. I dunno if that's normal or not or how that will apply to a proper NFL game but the fog horns got old pretty quickly. I imagine, with the current political climate, there will be quite stringent rules on what is and what is not permissible.

Let's hope that fog horns are banned from the stadium. I don't think I could handle someone sat behind me blasting that out for 3 hours.
