Now I know the Ricky isnt going to be coming back until the game against the bucks in week 6, but I want to know if he was allowed to practice with the team during the bye week. If he wasnt able to practice with the team then why wouldnt that count as a weeks suspention?

Pretty sure he wasn't allowed to practice, but you bring up a good point. If the bye week was later, then Ricky would have only missed 4 weeks with the team.

As soon as the buffalo game is over, he can hook up with the team again:evil:

You make a very valid point... but I'm sure in the eyes of the NFL this one of those things that you just need to deal with the rules...

The schedule was put out before Ricky came back, I highly doubt they would have altered the schedule had he came back before...

it's just one of those things...

Next Monday he'll be reunited with everybody and he'll be back on the attack!

It hurts him that the bye week was early. Since his suspension was for 4 games he must be gone from the team until after that fourth game is played. If it was a 4 week suspension including 4 games then he could have been with the team during the bye week. But it is not 4 weeks, it is until after the fourth game. Simple as that.

By the way, the suspension is in games...not weeks.

Yeah I realised that but I didnt know if maybe the suspention would be altered due to the fact that our bye came on this week. I didn't know if they should have counted the bye week as a game week because he is still missing practice and everything. Just something I was thinking of when I read another thread talking about the paper showing Ricky was playing against Buffalo.

Ricky can still go to the practice field and practice, but not at the same time with the team. He can go after the team practices and he can go for treatment. He just can't practice with the team or watch film/meetings with the team or even go to the games. Other than those three things, I think Ricky can do whatever he needs. He's still there everyday.

The bottom line is it 4 games...I think they did it this way to make sure he did not get 4 paychecks for games missed. Sounds like Ricky got jacked up and is not going to get much pay this year, but that is a risk he took when he decided to walk out on a 8+ million dollar deal....hopefully he has learned from this and can stay off the weed. I just want to see him in the backfield again with Ronnie Brown, and hope he can help us win. :)

No kidding. He'll end up getting 8 game checks, so he'll be taking home like $270K for the season (minus taxes and his agent's cut)...

Minus the recent fines also.

The language of the Collective Bargaining agreement states that the suspension is to be for a length of time to cover 4 consecutive games. If it takes the Dolphins 5 weeks to play 4 games then thats just the way the ball bounces

"(a) A suspension for the period of time to cover four consecutive regular and post season games (including the Pro Bowl, if selected) without pay"
