In one of today's articles concerning Ricky's possible return I read this:
The Dolphins would also have salary-cap issues, although they would only be on the hook for Williams' 2004 salary, which is in the range of $2.6 million to $3.4 million.
Could someone explain that statement to me and would we have to do a new contract with Ricky or would his old contract somehow kick in? I'm not sure how the Fins would be on the hook for the 2004 salary if he was retired during that time...
