I was listening to the local sports radio station up here in new england, and they said something that kind of worried me, now keep in mind i think these guys are idiots and its complete speculation on their parts but they said the a lot of the guys on the dolphins HATE saban, not dislike but HATE him. I was wondering if anyone down in the miami area have heard any such thing, i hope its not true cause its just going to make things even harder for them to buy into his system again. My opinion is this isnt true, some guys may be frustrated with losing, but has anyone else in heard that the players HATE saban and his coaching style??

It's interesting you say that, cause some guy called Kevin Rogers two nights ago down here in Miami on sports radio and said he had an "inside source" that told him that the players really disliked Saban also, and don't buy into his coaching at all. Kevin Rogers just shot him down, so I didn't think twice about it, and now you mention this. I really hope that it's all crap people are trying to spread. There have been people calling sports radio the past few weeks saying they wanna see the Dolphins lose to see Saban fail. His demeanor with the media and us losing so far is letting everyone have a feast with his image. It's ridiculous in my opinion!

I certainly expect SOME hate him, and if I had to guess, I'd say its likely the few still thinking THEY are the ones Saban was referring to, when he said,
"Their almost all gone, except for one or two more left, who still dont get it"
One thing he's maintained is healthy distance from the players, unlike Wanny, he's not become anybodys butt buddy, despite having known a player or two since High School. He's a disciplinarian, with a ticket to scrutinize the little things now, more than ever. That alone is a magnet for resentment.

Nevertheless, players worried about those things, probably aren't gonna be around much longer to "hate" anyways.

Saban is losen it right now....Miami doesnt have any realistic chance of winnen a SB with Wayne as Owner....He reminds me of Belichick in his 1st stint as HC with the Brownies.

how in the hell is wayne h. to blame?? please, please xplain this to me? he pays 25 mill for a coach and then allows that coach to spend whatever he wants. he has the most assistant coaches in the nfl, built a practice bubble and spends to the limit of the cap. those of you who blame wayne are not only misinformed but just ignorant. wayne is probably one of the best owners in all of sports not just the nfl.

I think there are players that dislike him and his coaching style and I think thats why we are still losing. All I keep hearing sabans say is his players need to do the right things and even the little things that some players might agree with because they think they are above doing the little things or that they have enough talent not to do them and the stuff saban is trying to get them to do is ok for college kids but not for them. And I think thats the main reason why they are losing. I can see some veteran players saying that I've been doing it this way for years and I'm not going to change, well the last time I checked not many players on the dolphins team have been to a superbowl or are oughtright allstars so they don't have the right to say that, imho, and I think thats why they continue to lose. Saban needs to get rid of all of these stubborn veterans (whomever they may be) and infuse the team with some young players that have are willing to listen and learn how to play and win, and roll with them.

If I may inteject...H. Weanie High Singer has raised ammenaties prices 10 times as many times as he has brought a playoff victory,,,,,he handled the moustache guys firing...ohh one more year just wonderful...slighly better than he handled the Dan Marino is our VP...uh..football ops guy, uhh, QB coach,,,uhhh Personal Assistant,,,uhhh,,,,never mind he just "retired.... and his handeling of the JJ departure was tremendous. I particualrly liked the way he allowed his former failure of a coach to hand pick his future failure of a coach. And his decision to hire a Mussolini like head coach with no NFL experience is proving the turnaround of league and a model by which NFL franchises will be run going forward....of course that will be blended with hiring a midwest level scout with an NFL brother/announcer as your GM. Of course the GM position...you know the guy in charge of running your team and selecting/evaluating players...will report to the Head coach...truly a "unique" organizational stucture we had back then...yep...heck of an owner...at least he qualifies as running a unique business model....

I suspect many of the players hate Saban. He is a fiery guy and expects perfection from his players, as he does from himself. Given their horrid showing so far this season, I imagine the locker room is very tense. Winning, however, cures these kinds of ills, so as soon as this team starts handling their business, then they can stop whining about how much they hate Saban.

Yea, and Parcells has tons of player who love him. Who cares! How many here like your boss? How many liked Fossil? He took the Giants pretty far. Hell, Giants also have their current coach.

If we start winning, the players will shut up, if not, they'll be gone, not Saban.

CRZNICK25:

funny, i heard the same thing on serius last week.

somone from one of the sport sites or rags was
on and was talking about mutiny in miami.

he said that the collosol mistakes nick has made
and his refusal to change coupled with his
arrogance with players is sinking the ship early.....

and hey!! i believe it!! you can almost feel the tension
hundreds of miles away sitting in your living room!

this teams veterans, expecially on defense were fragile!

they have heard ALL the promises and excuses for years
and wayne hires mr super hype. jt as well as zach and
sam and others were all very sceptical about what a
college coach was going to do to fix things.

those comments should have told people how close to
implosion this team was at the time so it is easy to
believe what there feeling now!!

i commend this defense and its leaders. my god, how long
have they caried this team valiently and played at champion
level and been cursed by the fans and made scapegoats?

how long have they had lame coaching, bad qb's and bum
skill players and kept there heads up?

even in this, the darkest of finz hours they are a top 5
defense DESPITE nicks blundering of the db's!!

i think more than a mutiny is on the way.

my 2 cents: wayne has given every coach everything they could want to succeed. if wayne has a fault it is loyalty. however, he never butts into the football operations and you NEVER hear him complaining if things go bad. i guess this is why when the miami job opened there were so many names attatched to it! miami is considered one of the best teams to work for and that has nothing to do with weather. it has to do with an owner who lets the coach do his job. if ticket prices were raised then stay home and watch the game on tv.

So, the coach gets 1 season and 5 games to be assessed on? If I remember correctly, he took a 4-12 team 2 years ago, added some talent, and after a rough start, finished strong. Fans were hailing him as the saviour of the organization. So, this offseason, he makes a trade for two starting calibre QB's to help one of our biggest positions of need since Marino left and everyone starts crying Superbowl. We lose a couple of players to the cap, but that happens to every team.

So here we sit at 1-4 and everyone (myself included) is feeling betrayed and disappointed. Purely natural and expected, but that doesn't mean Saban has failed. This team overachieved last year, a sign of good coaching. Saban carries some blame here, but not as much as you guys are willing to heap on him.

Saban's mistakes:

1. Playing Daunte before he was healthy. This is probably the worst mistake of his coaching career. While using a pick on Culpepper was a gamble, it is hard to argue with the decision. It is the rush to get him on the field that is the big mistake.

2. Mike Mularky. This was a bad move...however, I'm not sure what else was available at the time.

3. Offensive Line. The OL got attention this offseason, but didn't receive the quality of upgrades it needed. I think Saban may have put a little more trust in Houck than he should have. Not every sow's ear can be made a Tom Brady man bag.

4. Hit and miss draft selections. His first draft was good, but the second was mediocre.

This is a coach that should be given the benefit of the doubt still. He deserves another season with more players of his choosing to put into the system. If he fails next year, then he can be run out of town.
