Does anyone know if Sage throws an accurate deep ball? I think the long ball aspect of Gus' game is what is lacking. The guy has an tremendous arm and can get the ball downfield with the best of 'em, but his accuracy on the long ball is a bit sketchy. I know throwing long balls does wonders for our offense and makes the D respect the pass, but connecting on them more would make us deadly. I'm not pulling for Saban to pull Gus or anything like that, but I was wondering if Sage is more accurate in that regard.

Yes, he has the strongest arm of the three we have.
 
Yes he typically carries the clipboard with the right arm and it at times can be heavy with all the lunch orders etc. This extra work has given him a cannon of a right arm.
 
Sage has a strong arm but was not known for his accuracy coming out of college...Where is now is anyone's guess. I think his Achilles, if he were pressed into playing would be reading D's. That was the knock on him in Washington...

I would be real concerned with Sage...here is a guy that couldn't cut it in Washington with no one as a #1, then he comes here and can't beat out Ears for two years (ok, so maybe Wanny's love affair with Ears had something to do with it), then he can't beat out Gus this year. He is elevated to 2nd string because AJ failed to take the reigns, not necessarily that he outplayed him. That said, if something did happen to Gus, he'd be the guy until he proved otherwise...
 
He throws a pretty long pass. unfortunately it usually lands five yards past the receiver. From an aesthetic point of view its better than Gus's wounded ducks (Jim Plunkett lives) but Gus connects on about 1 out of 5 of them. Sage might be able to match or exceed that and he might not. We won't know unless he plays
 
I hope I never have to See Sage take the field as a starter in a Phins uniform I wish the guy the best I am sure he is a nice guy but he's not a starter he couldnt even beat out Danny Wurfell have you seen Danny lately? Is he even in the NFL anymore?

Well, he looked decent in his first start against a Raven defense. He is better then AJ!

I would feel fine with Sage covering for Gus a hell of a bunch more then I would with AJ.
 
whoa now ! Sage has not been given a fair shot , at least not while pornstache was here . I have complete and total confidence in Sage taking us to the playoffs and beyond. i saw sage and some of us were believing that Sage has the ability to be the next Dan Marino , that is right my pestimistic phin fans Sage is the rock that holds the dolphin nation together. ( ok that was a little over the top but anything is posible):bry:

I don't know about him being worse than AJ...from a physical viewpoint, both are about equal with long ball strength to Sage, but overall accuracy to AJ...

Other than the first pass he threw against the Ravens, he sucked too...face it, Gus is our best chance and he ain't all that...

Where were you when I was crying this arguement about AJ...

At any rate, if he couldn't beat out anyone in Washington 4 years ago (I don't think any of those guys are even on the team and most are out of football), then he couldn't beat out Ears (even tho I agree that there was a love affair going on between Ears and Wanny, or maybe Ears had compromising photos on Wanny, who knows) then he couldn't beat out AJ, then he couldn't beat out Gus...that history speaks volumes about Sage...

omg no where in that game did he look good he threw a pass for td on first play then stunk it up worse then aj did at any point last season sage is a joke i can't beleive people think he played good that game I Also can't believe the people that come on this week and say gus threw 3 picks but had a good game.... There has never been a qb who threw 3 picks and lost who had a good game! NEVER!
 
Enough with the sage bashing NO one here knows how he plays NOW. BECAUSE HE HASN'T! He has shown enought to outplay a guy our last regime gave up a high second rounder for! But still people want to knock a guy who for i am sure not all his own doing got behind some guys and couldnt unseat them it does not mean he stinks! And taking ANYTHING good or bad from LAST YEARS RAVENS GAME IS SILLY. This is a new offense and a new cordinator and needs to be treated that way,a work in progress! We are just scratching the surface I believe and Dont think the injury bug isnt gonna bite us too,If it does I think Sage would do O.K.He is bigger and stronger and I think throws a nice tight ball..but thats about all any of us can say untill he plays !
