Question about the playoffs...please answer

I was just wondering why the Pats need to loose all of their games in order for us to get into the playoffs?? If they loose two of three and we win three of three, why would they get the top spot?? I was hoping the Tampa Bay would beat them, and then we would be playing them in the final game for the AFC East title. Our records would be the same 9-7, what gives them the tie break??

New England has a better record against AFC East teams than we would have if we finish tied with the Pats.

We have to have a better overall record than they do to get the division. If we tie, they have the tie breaker since they would have a better division record.

division record even if they lose to the jets and lose to us, they'll be 4-2 in the AFC east, ours at best can be 3-3...
