does the team have the say in this? or is it all the networks?

i thought i remember reading somewhere last offseason where Miami wanted all home games to stay at 1 p.m..... i thought this was an EXCELLENT move to open the Saban era, getting back to leaning on our homefield advantage... too often over the past 15 years, you would see more and more Miami games scheduled for 4 p.m., or moving to 4 p.m. from 1 p.m. as the season wore on... i'm glad all our home games started at 1 this year...

I'm not certain but we seem to play most of our 4pm games in the winter don't we? Maybe we've just had more West Coast games in the winter this season. I don't think teams get a say in any part of scheduling though.

:dolphins: :dolphins: I beleive the the NFL decides when they put the national schedule together. Then the networks decide of the time.

In Central Fl we'll be lucky to see one CBS Dolfin game regardlress of the time slot. they screwed us out of more than 4 games this year..Wish Mr H would contract with someone like Sunshine so we could see every game.

I was under the impression that almost all 4 pm games were on the westcoast (thats 1 pm too them). The only time usually that we would have a 4 pm game in Miami is if it's a nationally broadcast game with big implications (at least they thought so when they made the Schedule in March.).

Think it's confusing now?..... Wait until next year. The Nfl will have the ability to move games to and from Monday Night. So, if they had scheduled a game for MNF that they thought was going to be a great game and both temas are stinking it up, the networks can agree to move one of the Sunday games to MNF.

Won't be as bad as that. only the SUNDAY night game on NBC can be changed, something like the last 8-10 weeks of the season and CBS & FOX will have the right to something like 6 vetos each, so if a really attractive Pats/fins game has division/playoff implications during that time and NBC has a crappy Bills/Jets game and they want the Pats/Fins on Sunday night instead, they can put in a request to switch it. It CBS really wants the game, they can veto the switch.

its a bit more complicated than that, but Monday nights will continue to be locked on the schedule due to the logistical complications involved in an actual day of game (Sunday/Monday) switch......

Don't forget the NY Jets/Giants thing. Under the televsion deal, one team plays at 1 and the other plays at 4 if neither is MNF or Sunday night.

Most of the west coast games start at 4 ET because if they started at 1 ET in Cali then the game starts at 10 AM. Generally they try to keep the east coast teams at 1 and the west coast at 4. I was freaked out when i moved out to colorado and football started at 11am. I ussualy dont even get up till 12...But monday night football ends 2 hours earlier which was great for work...
