Everyone seems to think its a good idea to trade Taylor. We all I know what kind of player JT is. So I ask the following the question, if we trade Taylor for a 2nd pick and lets say our draft choice turns out like "Eddie Moore". Do you think its a good trade still. Thoughts anyone?

Eddie Moore was horrible. Why would that be a good move?
We need to get value for Taylor. We're not just giving him away.

I wouldn't trade a cookie for another Eddie Moore.

If it is an early 2nd rounder, than I would probably do it, but not if it is a late 2nd rounder. I know JT makes a lot of $$$ but he deserves to finish it out here and retire a Phin. :)

of course not. nobody would trade anybody for draft picks if they thought the player selected would be a bust. you have to have some good talent evaluators and some good fortune. think along the lines of sam madison and chris chambers for recent second round draft choices here. jt himself was a third rounder if i recall correctly.

There is one thing that nobody is bringing up or nobody cares to think about. If Jason Taylor has asked upper management to trade him, they should trade him as long as they get fair compensation for him. He didnt publicly ask for a trade. He's been nothing but professional and has played his heart out in his whole career here. So I say if he wants to be traded to a contender, the Dolphins should try to accomidate him if they can.

How 'bout this:

What would happen if we got a #2 for JT..... and that pick turned out to be a transsexual who was really born as a woman and took it so personally when Matt Roth laughed at his/her incomplete "thing" (still saving for that final operation) in the locker room that he/she became an al Queda operative with the hope of campaigning for recruits to surprise Roth and beat the hell out of him in a barroom brawl?

What then? Would THAT be a good trade then?

Or what IF that #2 pick turned out to be an illegal alien who, once his face was flashed in the Herald, was picked up by the INS and deported back to Haiti and then he sued the Dolphins and the U.S Government and......

And if that 2nd turns into a probowler!!!!

If the pick is a complete bust, its still worth the chance. We picked the wrong guy, we didn't give him away.

JT has only a few years left anyway, and I'm sure he wants to sniff the playoffs before he retires off to Hollywood.

Hey, JT was going to retire last year anyway, he sometime said he would this year....
sooooo, let`s have us that secon rounder please, thank you, hope you get your ring JT, you gave it your all here, you are just not part of this REBUILDING process...

Yep I am with you. Lot of money to pay JT to be part of the rebuild with no chance of winning much of anything. this will take 3 years to contend most likely so try and get something to build with. Oh, and BP did not draft Moor. Much better chance of hitting with someone that can at least play arole.

Obviously no....

But if we get nothing for Jason Taylor and he ends up slowing down greatly next year, with only like five sacks and we can no longer get ANYTHING for him then i would be greatly disappointed we didn't trade him.
