In the Dolphins D, we play 3 LB's about half the time, which is proven in snap counts the last 2 years. Last year, Wheeler was in on 384 plays and Trusnick at 172 as the third LB. Jenkins was in all the time, as was Misi or Trusnick or Sheppard combined due to injury. Maybe Jordan fits in here vs the pass.

Sheppard, on 102 plays, was a bit above average vs the run and bad in cover. Misi was above average vs the run, about the same in cover, and brought some pressure wit 1 sack, 3 hits, and 8 hurries.

Let's add in DT grades vs the run. Starks was -9.5, Odrick was +1.o. and Mitchell was -3.8. Suh was +18.1.

Finally, a point/question. Does picking a MLB in the first 2 rounds give value considering that he is likely to play only half the snaps? There a question on all MLB's in this year's draft. Threis o one all that good.

Would he offer more value in play and cap value that a WR or CB?

I agree that we do need help at MLB and LB overall but, do not see the value. for this team, this year.

I'm starting to believe you just like playing devil's advocate.

LOL Maybe to a degree but, it's based on what I know as well as what I see and hear. In most cases, I have an opinion but, want to hear other sides to confirm or change that opinion.

Yeah, we'll be fine staying status quo and playing what we have.... Is that what you want to hear?

A legit middle linebacker would help out the D a lot

I'm seeing Kendricks dropping by some because of size in the middle, and a few thinking he may be better at Will or Sam. He could go into the second round. Many love the Canes MLB for 2 downs but, saw him exposed in cover in college, and think he will drop to late 2nd and maybe even to the top of the third.

Not at all. We need a lot of help at LB with Misi being often injured, and Jenkins having questions after hitting a wall late in the season. My question is if a high pick is worth it over WR and CB as opposed to a band aid in FA this year.

If we're going to use the #14 draft pick for a MLB, the guy should be near flawless. 6'3", 250 lbs, 4.4 speed, great tackler, great instincts, knocks out RBs with bone crushing hits, rips interceptions out of the air, dominated top college teams. He should basically be Godzilla. An absolute terror that other NFL teams will fear for the next 10 years.

No MLBs like that in the 2015 draft. So no, I don't want to use the #14 pick this year on a MLB.

How many of those guys are there in the nfl? Not many. And one of them just retired.

Maybe you're right tho SB and some of those guys fall on the draft, that would be great. If we miss on Kendricks, Perryman is my next man up

I like Perryman as well, and his attitude. I'm just thinking that a MLB is not as important in Coyle's D as it would be on other teams. Suh makes this choice easier. I'm not seeing the need as big with him. Maybe Spikes falls through the cracks. IMO he would be a better addition "this year."

I doubt the Ravens regret drafting Mosely last year. I'm not saying Kendrick's is the right guy...but your expectations are a bit lofty. Kuechly doesn't even meet your criteria and he's about as close to Godzilla as you're going to find haha.

That's what I was saying. Just thinking off the top of my head Patrick Willis is the only guy jumping out at me with those attributes. Kuechly has to be one of the next ones up. Not many linebackers run a 4.4... Even the studs. And if they are fast like that, they are likely small

IMO the #14 spot THIS year there is NOT a MLB worth drafting that high.
Forget need at #14 please, and draft the BEST AVAILABLE ATHLETE and hopefully an impact player!!

Yeah, if a guy like Mosely were in this year's draft, my opinion would change.

Perryman is as close to that... but without him being 6'3", 4.4 speed and dominating every college offense he has faced. Guy is a baller.

You can get decent MLBs like Kendricks & Perryman outside of the 1st rd.

But if we're running a 4-3 defense, and we're going to use the #14 pick on a MLB, I want Godzilla.
