What is a reach? Is that a player that, for example, was taken at nine, but could of been had a few picks later?

So pretty much Ginn was a reach right? We drafted him at nine, but could of had him somewhere in the teens. I guess I see everyones point.

One other question though...wouldnt Quinn be a reach also? We would of drafted him at nine, but could of had him in the mid 20s? Wouldnt that make him more of a "reach" than Ginn? So couldnt I have b!tched and complained if Quinn was taken at nine instead of Ginn?

Im not defending the Ginn pick, or the passing of Quinn for that matter. Where Im trying to get at is that the Fins chose the player that they thought was the best position player rated. Quinn might of been good, but there were a couple of QBs in the second round that they think would be just as good. There is a reason why 20 teams passed him over. We have a good offensive minded coach and a solid talent evaluator as our GM, why dont we give them the benefit of the doubt, especially since Quinn hasnt thrown a ball yet, and Ginn hasnt even caught one yet.

Why has this board turned into a pathetic show of fairweather fans? What makes Quinn the second coming of Marino? If teams had Beck rated HIGHER than Quinn, what makes them wrong, and all the experts on here right? What do you people know that the real experts dont? No one can answer my question/s cause all it comes down to is having a man-crush on Quinn. No one on here is an expert, and to bash your team that you root for, to root for our players to get hurt, makes you pathetic as well. I cant believe that there are so many threads started over a guy that 20 other teams passed on, 20! I'll take all criticism on, I respect everyones opinions, but until someone can answer my question/s, I stick by my team and the real experts who run it!

20 teams passed but not all teams that passed needed a qb , and I guess the browns didn't pass thay took the best olineman the worked there arses off to get Quinn

Yeah, or maybe Dallas worked Clevelands arses off, when they got a 2nd and a 1st from the Browns?

Lets change the post a little.

Lets see if anyone, all the experts on this board, can answer some questions I have:

What makes Quinn such a better prospect than Ginn?

Why is it a reach to take Ginn at nine, but not Quinn at nine, when Quinn could on been had late in the first, and some mocks had Ginn at seven to the Vikes.

Why is Quinn and Jarrett the better pick than Beck and Ginn? And please try to come up with a better answer than Beck being in his mid 20s.

I guarantee that no one can answer these questions. All anyone is going to say is what you have been reading on the web or watching on tv for the past countless hours. No one is an expert here, and to think a hard on for Quinn has brought this board down to dirt is downright pathetic. Cause we didnt take the "sexy" pick at nine, it automatically...ugh, its not even worth it. Its pathetic how everyone can shoot down this organization for not picking Quinn, but NO ONE CAN JUSTIFY WHY WE SHOULD OF TAKEN HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE!

I think part of the reason people were so negative is because they read that spout of negativity, Salguero's constant stream of bile.

That guy was trashing our pics the very second that Cam and Randy made them. He thinks that he is a knowledgable football writer, but he is just a bitter writer.

I feel bad for anyone that has to deal with his unfailing negativity in person in those press conferences where he always goes out of his way to give the coaches a hard time & tries to make them look bad...:shakeno: :fire:
