Question for Hoohoops!

I think Kubiak too. I have been begging for play action boots for RT. You root leg and have a backside deep post, and drag or gig route from tight end or slot. Kubiak moved Schaub a lot and he isn't nearly as mobile as tannehill. But, like Hoops said we don't have the o line personel for that system.

that catch against san diego isn't quite as vertical as i'm talking about...that's more an intermediate in cutter and catch and run off pa but i would like to see more the vertical crosser stuff we saw with hartline last year vs zona for the long catch and td but with a much more scary guy running the crosser and invading the safety in mike wallace...

if we could work that off heavy wide stretch misdirection he'd be running free in the deep middle of the field a lot i can tell ya that...get a move athlete like tannehill to sell the hard run to that side and come off it set his feet and rip it...they get this oline fixed there's a whole lot of things we can do with this qb and a good offense i know that much

How come you guys can easily figure it out, but our million dollar old man OC couldn't?!!

Anybody the moves WRS around a has more routes than Comeback, out and go.

Where are the deep posts, the one that Wallace scored on during NE. The route tree Miami had was so limited. Almost embarrassing.

New oc needs to be able to utilize the one elite talent we have in the outside, yes Mike Wallace is a elite WR IMO

I don't know, it's why watching this team is so absurd sometimes.

I think of all the things that I can point to and say "Something is wrong here," it's the fact that we only ran the QB sneak like twice all year. Like literally, twice.

Watching other teams have a bunch formation and then watching Miami line up Wallace and Hartline at the same spots is depressing. Watching the other young qbs in the game have wide open windows due to bunch formations and the use of picks is something Miami lacks. Also we have the fastest WR in the NFL, he can run more than the to route.

I'm of the opinion that Tannehill will take a few steps forward if a team can run some, regardless of the scheme/system. He has been VG in play action but, if the opposing D laughs at the possibility of a run, play action loses it's effect.

The same is true when the D "knows" you have to pass, and pins their ears back. I'm not defending the OL here but, IF we were able to run some, I'm guessing that our sacks would have dropped by around 20.

You are definitely not defending the OL. The main fact we could not run was all on their shoulders. That and the fact that we ran to the right 90% of the time (at least it seemed)

How about designed rollouts? Minimizing a weakness (crappy OL) and uses a strength (Tannehill passing on the move). Watching Seattle run a run/pass option on third and short and have TWO receivers wide open on short and intermediate routes and have room for Wilson to run made me want to kick my TV.

fix the oline and everything becomes possible...start with some move athlete tackles...if we can get teams to have to play it honest with the ends/olbs we will be cooking with gas...otherwise you will be rolling your qb right into contact...

get away from the pluggers and the stone footers and get some move athletes that can get to things in space...

We actually ran about the same to the right and left. Did not matter, both sides of the OL sucked about equally in run blocking. Miller and DT had "No Where To Run

Agreed. Many have suggested the roll outs and moving pockets. Hell, there was no pocket to move, and rolling out would have just gotten RT killed sooner and he would have been more exposed.
