I haven't seen that much of him, so I'll have to rely on people who have, but I was wondering if he could play cornerback? Seeing that he is fast but with suspect hands, it seems as if he could, without losing the gamebreaking return ability. The pick would make more sense to me if he could

In 2003-04 he was scout .com no.1 CB coming out of HS. At Ohio State he was needed on Offense /special teams. He practiced some at CB in pre season camp 2004 but was moved to Offense. There was not a need for him at CB until possibly last season . Let me tell you every time I mean every time he touches the ball he can take it to the house. He is as fast as any player that I have seen in college or the NFL including the likes of Darrell Green, Deion Sanders etc. Also by the way I'm a OSU fan but Ginn is as avertised a game breaker that will give you excitment in Miami. Here he is on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mar1q4af4Ag

Enough with the YOUTube highlights. I remember watching Ronnie Brown highlights and I thought he was the next Jimmy Brown! We know he's fast, but he's got a hurt foot that may never heal. He won't be as fast dragging on one leg.

Are you kidding? The difference between the top corners and the bottom corners in the draft is barely speed. Its all about form. The Lions drafted a CB that could be the fastest in the draft....in the 4th round! You can't just take a fast guy and tell him to line up against NFL receivers an expect production.

there are tons of fast corners that aren't even average CB's in the NFL, Will Allen, p buchannon, ahmed carroll, justin miller (jury is still out on this bum :))...there are plenty.

sure but why take the ball out of his hands ? Nobody on the field can catch this guy !!

That's why I asked if he could play corner

I was thinking that if he could get interceptions as a corner, we wouldn't take the ball out of his hands. Also, he would still return kicks

give me a freaking break, he got a really bad sprained ankle, it takes time to heal but its not the type of injury that kills your career, and remember he ran a 4.3 in the rain at a private workout early this month, as long as we give him the time to heal and odn't push him in mini camp, he should be ready by training camp

I doubt an actual DOCTOR would ever claim that his foot injury "may never heal". That's like saying a guy may never heal from an ankle sprain.

Moving him to corner would make it an even worse pick (if you think it was a bad pick to begin with).

Umm he was one of the nations top HS CB.

He was converted to a WR at Ohio St.

He already stated he wouldn't mind playing both positions.

He was a highly recruited corner coming out of HS doesnt mean he could be a corner in the NFL. And playing both positions isnt really an option in the NFL these days. How many two way players are there? He was drafted to be an xfactor on offense and add big play ability, moving him to defense would be completely idiotic.

I always used to think the same about Tony Martin. Great speed, questionable hands. Should be a great CB, right? Then someone pointed out that he would have to TACKLE occasionally. Not sure Ginn would be good enough in that department.
