Just a question, thinking out loud. Not sure if anyone else here has brought this up. If you are San Fran, do you pick up the phone and ask the Dolphins if they will trade next years first for Crabtree? Knowing that at best maybe the Dolphins go 8-8 and the pick will be around 10-15.

and....if you are the Dolphins, do you make that trade. Not knowing if you will get the opportuntiy to draft a guy like Dez White, do they pull the trigger on Crabtree. A lot of factors here. Our current leaders don't trade future picks like past desparados (Wannstedt/Spielman and Mueller/Cameran). That's a good thing. Plus you have to wonder about Crabtree's judgement at this point and his signability.

Well, thoughts??????

I'd do that trade in a minute! The Dolphins need SOMEBODY that can make a big play!

The window has closed on trading Crabtree this year. I think this can be done the day before the draft at the earliest. Even if we could trade a 1st, I would not for him.

love the guys talent. its just what this team has needed, the MOST,
over the last 5 years.

but as bad as i want wr's here, this guy is looking like a MAJOR flake.

if he thinks that after sitting out the whole season over where he was rafted
and hurting his team and team mates in the process, someone is going to
draft him earlier and pay him the salary he is asking, he is plain NUTS!!

AND LETS FACE IT, whats he gonna do for the next 8 months? car wash? sleep
on mommas couch? sling rock? [thats my bet] what a doofus!

he has cost himself a bundle in money and a BAD reputation BEFORE he even
steps foot on an nfl field.

he has passed up MILLIONS of dollars for he and his family. what a HUGE gamble
that is! he could wreck a knee slipping on some stairs, car wreck, drive by, whatever
and all those future million would be GONE, GONE, GONE!

and how selfish to risk all that for his families future just so he can say "i made more money that darius heyward-bey!!

he could have had millions in the bank this year and a fat salary to boot AND have
the knowledge that all he has to do is play like he says he can and come next
contract, he WILL get that super inflated salary. even MORE than what he wants
now if he becomes a big time player on the field.

NO! i dont want him. can you imagine what this psyco diva is going to do to his team
everytime his contract is up?

no thanx. this guy is already making T.O. look like the model nfl team player!!

Dont think we can do this at this point. The deadline is passed for any of this to happen.

I wouldnt do the deal anyway. Hes wayyyy behind schedule as far as playing football goes and who knows what kind of shape hes in.

Hes an idiot for not taking the deal with the niners. Bet you he would like to go back and do it all over again.

Deadline has passed. Can't trade a guy that wasn't signed 30 days prior to the start of the regular season. League rules.

Put Crabtree out of your minds. It's impossible.

I think that Michael Crabtree is one of the dumbest players to come out of the NFL draft in the past decade. Anyone who's dumb enough to miss his entire rookie season (which is seeming more then possible) isn't someone I would be excited to go after.

Besides, the way we are playing, and with the uncertainty of how Henne is going to play we could be looking at a top 10 pick next year which means we can have a shot at a real play maker. Wouldn't trade that for an idiot who's not even smart enough to have signed his rookie contract by now the year before an uncapped year, and two years from possible work stoppage if no new CBA is agreed to. He's really digging himself into a hole.

Is it theoretically possible for San Fran to do a sign and trade with the Dolphins?:ponder:

I don't understand why so many people want him? Do they not see what he is doing? What does that say about his character? I hope he is in next years draft and the owners make a statement.

Agreed. It really is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. If he's just relying on bad advice than he needs to not be a brainless puppet and make his own choices. Not only is this extremely damaging for his career, but he's going to end up losing money by doing this. It's kind of fascinating that someone would be this dumb. I have no interest in the Dolphins pursuing him. I don't see how Crabtree will ever fully recover from this stupidity.
