Let me explain the question a little... to me, at least, it's starting to appear that Martin has "played" the Dolphins, i.e. this is really all about his fragile ego not accepting the fact that he was demoted from LT to RT (and, really, his difficulty dealing with the reality... that's probably been setting in for a while now... that he's a failure as a player in the big league). Bottom line... evidence is starting to suggest that some of his actions are pre-calculated and that he's trying to screw the team... and... (this he may not have counted on)... along with the team... the NFL.

My contention is that when Ross said to the NFL, "Get your asses in here to sort this out!", what he was doing was playing his best hand... that is... he was letting the BIG DOGS come in so they could get up on the front line of this thing... he was letting the NFL know that this wasn't going to tarnish and destroy his team without ALSO taking a huge dump on the NFL as a whole.

Again, what I don't think Martin accounted for is that just like the locker room and how our players are coming together and circling the wagon... I suspect that the entire NFL is going to do the same... ONCE, of course, they've collected enough information to cover their butts, so that they can then either A) bury Martin's ass, or B) and the more likely, in my opinion... come to some "amicable" solution whereby to the media and the general public it appears that the "right thing" or "best thing possible" was done for all parties involved... with some punishments dished out, of course, i.e. scapegoats sacrificed... but also... I believe that very, very QUIETLY... Martin will be told [privately] by the NFL to "walk away and never come back to this subject lest he wants to find himself at the bottom of a lake wearing a pair of cement shoes".

Some of you might think I'm exaggerating (and I'm not saying I agree with the above)... but I do know something about how BILLIONAIRES conduct themselves when their chicken that lays golden eggs is threatened.

So... QUESTION... what do you think the NFL will "allow" Martin to get away with... how far do you think they'll allow this thing to get?

Me, personally, I think they're letting out a lot of line right now... line enough for Martin to eventually hang himself with... metaphorically speaking, of course (I'd like to think that the NFL wouldn't ever go that far to protect itself... 'course when you try to play a Mafia boss... and lose... uh, yeah, you should just expect what's coming).
