question why was marino's son never a football player?

Because he's an individual. Just because Marino was a great QB doesn't automatically mean his son will have the skill and/or desire to become a football player as well.

EDIT:
Oh, yeah, I just remembered:
Dan Marino Foundation

The Dan Marino Foundation, was established in 1992 by Marino and his wife, Claire, after their son, Michael, was diagnosed with autism.[5] The foundation has distributed over $7 million to research, services and treatment programs serving children with neurodevelopment disabilities. The Dan Marino Center, which opened in 1995 along with the Miami Children's Hospital, is an integrated neurodevelopmental center specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of children at risk for developmental and psychological problems. The center saw more than 48,000 children last year alone.
Marino has teamed with other celebrities to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders, including fellow NFL great Doug Flutie, whose son also has an autism diagnosis.

anyone know?

Dan has 3 sons and the oldest, who introduced him at Dan's HOF induction, is into acting. Going by the way he was at the HOF he will be a good one. I read somewhere that his oldest daughter was into horseback riding and might want to go for the gold, so to speak. Also from what I hear Dan never pushed his children to be anything but what they wanted to be. Sounds like a great father to me.

Aint his 2nd son a QB?

And I like your sig!

i know one of his sons is on the basketball team at some prep or private school in south florida.....my buddys the freshman coach at wellington and saw dan in the crowd during one of the games...

He has several sons. I was a classmate with one of his sons who is now a senior, and trust me, he has no future as a quarterback.

Ya I went to middle/high school with his sons. The oldest was into acting, and the middle one played football but he wasn't great, and I'm not sure about the youngest.

Because Marino is not one of these wanna-be/never-was "football stars" who are pushing their sons to be something they never could be. Dan (and Claire) are smart enough to let their kids become who they naturally are. They are truly compassionate people who probably have better things to do than torment their sons to tears to "make men out of 'em" and get into fistfights with opposing coaches and parents. Now, Howie Long, on the other hand, has my complete endorsement for whatever methods he used to raise his son. :woot: Good question by the OP.

i plyed football against one of his sons and he was playing saftie for a lititlle and i think wr too he goes to a small school so you kinda have to play both ways .........when we played them JT and Dan were at the game

Dan used to get up on Monday, and especially Tuesday mornings in pain. His body would creak and groan, and he'd hobble around. His kids saw this and would say, "I'm never playing football like daddy!
