after cutting a 12 time pro bowler seau, tebucky jones, sam madison, losing surtain, greenwood, and knight last year; do you think this team is becoming a more "offensive team" and becoming lesser of a defensive team? I'm getting worried about our defense now. :confused:
 
I think the Phins are becoming a less one dimensional team and a team with a better offence but I don't think the defence is going to decline as a result. I may well be wrong but my feelings are that Miami is a team with a very bright future and the cuts being made are, whilst regrettable in some cases, intelligent and well thought out benefits to the organisation.

I think the defence is going to be just fine.

I am worried, but not overly worried. The defense needs to become younger it was time to weed out the older less valuable players. Taylor and Thomas are guys who seem like they'll have value to the team even if they were 90.
 
The guys that are getting cut are all old. Some are still quality players but at some time managment has to get some youth into the program or else the defense will turn to crap quickly. I trust Saban with the D.
 
i think the Fins are becoming a YOUNG team not an Offensive team or Defensive team
 
We are also trying to get younger again. We had older players that wore down near the end of the season, we will get these younger players put in place and let them grow as a unit. Hopefully in a couple years of playing together we can be as dominate as a few years ago when Miami was one of the most feared D's in the league. It had to happen sometime better to start weeding out some older players than just lose them all at once and be stuck with nobody.
 
Yeremiah was a bullfrog is about to become a known commodity because the defense is built around the system and playing within it. We had 49 (50) sacks last year. I dont think we need to worry as we get younger.

It's very simply that Saban is just building the defense with his type of players. He couldn't release all that ones that didn't fit right away. It's not about money or age... look at the age of the d-linemen he brought in... look at Sam.. they never even asked him to restructure. Him and Surtain are just not Saban's type of corners.

Well, I think we all know the answer to that one and it was before the starting QB's surname started with the letter 'F'.
 
let me tell you our defense that you are so worried about...
dl-taylor,carter
dt-holliday,wright
lb-thomas,crowder,spragan/pope
cb-daniels,poole
s-shulters,bell(underrated IMO)
plus saban is going defense in the draft if we get brees.
