I know this is a retoicle question but still didn't Saban want Alex Smith over anyone else? we got Ronnie Brown who is great but I think Saban was in love with Alex Smith but the 49ers took him so we couldn't get him. I love Ronnie Brown don't get me wrong but Smith is going to be a great QB and I feel thats who Saban really wanted

Unless Saban reveals it himself, nobody will ever know who he would have chosen if we had picked first.
He was high on Smith, but then again he was high on Ronnie too. Then there was Edwards who Saban called to tell him we were taking him....only to draft Brown.

We had no Qb at all, but we still had ricky after 4 months, so technically we had a good HB, but either way you put it our QB sucked

My vote woulda been he wanted smith

but im more then happy with Ronnie

I believe Spielman or someone revealed the #1 player on their board was Ronnie Brown.

But I don't believe you can trust anything you here at draft time.
