Amidst all of the news surrounding on Miami's poor play, has anyone heard anything from Huizenga? I know he does not really say much to the media (which, IMO, is great), but I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything.

Nah. When Huizenga hired Saban, he knew full well the state that the team was in. Personally, I'm willing to bet Huizenga wasn't even counting on the team being decent until Sabans third year.

Its called delegation.Wayne hired Saban to handle all of the football operations.Wayne should not interfere with that other than to provide the funds needed to sustain that operation.Fortunately for us he is a hands off owner who doesnt meddle with the details such as other owners do.

Saban has a 5 yr contact and IMO Wayne will respect that contract unless there is complete breakdown of the team where things dont function.

Wayne did the right thing in hiring Saban IMHO, now he's doing the right thing in keeping silent and letting his man do his job.

Man you're giving saban a lot of benefit of the doubt. I will give Saban credit for trying to make the most of a bad situation. He's definitely trying "personnel wise" to upgrade this team, but the jury is still out on the quality of the personnel decisions. (draft wise, free agents, coaches, etc.) As far as a strategist I haven't seen enough yet for such a ringing endorsement. But he gets an "A" for effort so far, but conditions seem to be deteriorating right now.

wayne pulled this same crap when wanny was circling the bowl!

he was "on extended vacation" and would address the situation
when he returned.

you can bet good 'ol wayne is mightely embarrased by sabans
awfull performance this year. he is the first who fell hard for
the saban hype and in his mind, he was SURE he landed the
"cant miss" coach.

now he knows the truth, and probably just doesnt know what
to say.

he is probably waitng out the storm in some hideaway rich
guy island PRAYING TO THE MONEY GODS that this thing
with saban and dullpepper turns around.

if it does, we wil see him have a HUGE presser bashing the
fans and media for there treatment of poor nick with lots of
told ya so's thrown in.

if it doesnt, he will make a brief apearance towards the
end of the season saying its a "bump in the road" and
that he has FULL comfidence in nicks abilities and he
will remain coach along with the rest of his staff and
"get this thing turned around".

he will say "these things take time"........blah-blah-blah.

just as he did with wanny/jay.

YOU SHOULD HAVE HIRED A GM WAYNE!!!!!

C'mon. Give me a break. Saban took a 4-12 team and went 9-7 the following year. If you are embarassed about that achievement, then I think your expectations are unreal. He has improved the team tremendously, brought in younger talent (Brown, Roth, Crowder) and made some nice moves in FA (Carter, Holliday, Traylor). This off season he brought in a franchise QB, and yes, Daunte has not lived upt to expectations, but we have only played a quarter of the season.
What more did you expect? The Dolphins only had so many draft picks, and in case you were not aware, there is a thing called a salary cap. The O-lineman that were available over the last two seasons were demanding money that was just absurd.
I can understand that some fans are frustrated by Miami's lack of success this year, but I just don't get these fairweather fans, who jump ship at the first sign of trouble, make rash judgements about the state of our team, and are ready to fire the coach, trade the Qb, and basically blow the whole team up.
Who woud you have preferred that Huizenga had hired? Rich Kottite?

Nope... as it should be. Owners shouldnt be in the lime light. They should be in the shadows and stay in the shadows and let the football people deal with football. Guys like Mark Cuban are horrible...
