with the way the 2015 has gone, one of many Miami problems was lack of production from the TE position. But it seems to me that Jake Stoneburner did pretty good in the two games he played especially in the end zone. Why did they stop using him? Am I wrong here but he seems to have the better hands of all the TE on the roster.

We stopped using him because we had a $7.5 million waste of space in Cameron. I was impressed with him too, glad someone else noticed him.
 
Stoneburner wasnt winning he was being left alone and taking advantage..
Sims is the perfect number 2 tightend.. I cant believe Cameron had such a bad year...
He seemed to be off early with a few drops and routes that were not expected by the qb..
Honestly we can save a lot of money for that kind of production

A lot of people want to demonize Cameron, but I think the struggles on the O-line contributed to Cameron's lack of targets and disappointing impact. If you look at the way he was used early on compared to the way he was used as the season dragged on, you'll realize that a lot of his routes were cut down because we were forced to keep him in as an extra blocker. When he did run routes, they were mostly of the 4-5 yard hitch variety and not the intermediate or vertical seam routes he ran early and late in the season.

Agree. I think the real problem is Cameron likely won't be back and the Dolphins will have to look for a suitable replacement in the draft.
 
Meh ... screw the TE position.

Just put an extra tackle in to help block.
 
Hard to make any definite analysis IMO because of the BS coaching, scheme and the Oline situation... New HC GM etc going to have to sort through all this...
 
Cameron will be back, he will take a pay cut IMO. I blame tannehill more for his problems than anything, tannehill was awful, I really don't understand how he gets such a pass after that season.

A new HC will want to keep Cameron because at the end of the day there's nothing out there any better. Maybe Dwayne Allen, but I expect his market to be much better than this past years production would indicate.

Stoneburner looked ok when he was in there, but I feel like he is more of a blocking TE.

Where Sims is a well rounded TE and a very capable 2nd TE.

I was hoping that Cameron would have a bigger impact, but there were a ton of reasons he didn't. Play design/calling, he had to block a lot, I feel like he dropped a lot of passes too. I would be curious to see what another coach or OC does with him, since we know he can be a seam threat and red zone target. But for 9mil, he better get it together or take a pay cut.
 
Caneron will get paid almost 8 mill next yr. Think about
