I have been think latley and I am wondering since when have the Miami dolphins become public enemey no 1 withthe media ?

Has Don Shula rubbed every media outlet the wrong way or what. but back here in the midwest, nobody in the media likes any of the former dolphin players except Zach and Dan but with the snubbing of Kooch again this begs the question Has the 72 fins and Shula alienated the media to where its most likey we have seen our last dolphin player inducted into Canton ?

I say that as much as I want a DOLPHIN PLAYER TO GET INDUCTED I fear that the dolphins have become the most hated team in all of the nfl.
I hope i am wrong but I really hope Miami will put together a really good offense to gether and make history.
my fellow fans for the last 5 to 8 years we have been obbsessed with putting together a defense and unfortuneately we cant score but 14 points and this is against a bad team.
our defense really didnt cost us as many games as most fans want to beleive . but here is why the dolphins wont be anywhere near the superbowl for a while.
our QB is not good enough to get us past the first round so we need a stronger arm qb .

our wr corp doesnt have one elite wr and it showed in most of the games.

we have a lack of a pass rush so i will conceed that we need to fix the defense but at some point we need to add some talent at wr, and oline with ricky getting slower every year we need to add another runningback nex year or in two more years.

I like Chad P. but i just wonder whether he can get us past rd 1 .

we really need to get a big nt/dt and a big hard hitting de but other then that we need to fix the offense someday soon.

what i am trying to say is every year fin fans keep harping on defense but our offense isnt helping them out. its way past time to bring in a stud wr and and geet us a strong arm qb in the game and we need to throw more down feild to help take pressure off Ronnie and Ricky and this is my theory . I am not trying to talk down about out team but to point out that our problems in getting to the superbowl have more to do with the inabilty to score more then 21 points a game .
this crap that defenses win championships is a farse, all teams need to be able to score in times of when the defense has a bad game .

this all i am trying to say and the dolphins woes stem from a bad offense which has torn down the defense that jimmy built.

i uns=derstand what people are saying but i think this deffense winning championships is a little overrated.

Well that QB is Henne, that extra RB is Cobbs so I do not think that we need to upgrade in those positions bu I do agree that we have no true #1 WR and the defense we pretty much slapped together with a mixture of average players and rookies with the exception of Porter, and even he is getting older each year. Our defense played admirably this past season but it is not good.

I think before we get this offensive powerhouse of the future going, we need to make sure we can keep the other team from scoring and allow Henne something to fall back on if he runs into any bumps when he finally does play. Much the way Flacco has had.

Offense wins the fans/media, Defense wins championships (which also wins fans/media).

Our offense helped our D out quite a bit this year, but our O was in no way elite. I agree we need more playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, but our D needs more help right now.

As for no media love, the media doesn't love a loser and before this season we hadn't made the playoffs since 2001. We have been very bad of late and if we keep winning we will get more love. As for the media torwards the '72 Phins, not really sure why it would be like that. Perhaps because the media seems to be focued on a younger demographic (see espn), there are less and less coverage on the golden glory days of the NFL.

i sometimes feel the same way. the only time miami get any media attention is when they HAVE to talk about us, like Jake long signing/ ricky retiring etc.

As much as we are snubbed in the media, I do not think Hate is the proper term. I think a lack of respect is a better term. The NFL would not have sent us over to England and Canada if they hated us.You have to remember that most of the media has short term memory. Some of the most popular teams may have great histories, the steelers for example, but their recent history is more in the media. How often do you here about harris, blier, swan and the steel curtain. The media is has a "what have you done for me lately" mentality. The Dolphins have not set the world on fire lately and last years schedule did not help. the beat down by the Ravens was another added minus. 2009 has us playing a tougher schedule and if we do well I think you may see a media swing towards us. we have had great players in the last 20 years with marino, thomas. taylor ( look how they turned on him) and duper and clayton but the "TEAM" has been below par. We need to earn their respect along with the rest of the NFL. For the young fans out there who were not around when the dolphins were undefeated or doing well, they did not see the media treating us differently. Winning helps alot. Think about this--how much do you pay attention to somebody that you do not take serious.

The League sure doesn't do the phins any favors. How many years did Miami have to play a divisional opponent or 2 on the road in December? How many times were those on short weeks? How many times did they have to go out to the West on a short week? Lets face it; Up until 2007 the logistics of the schedule sucked and I don't believe in coincedences.

As for the media, Most of the major media & all of the phins divisonal rivals are based where?

Now for a theory of my own; Unless its college football or the NHL, Teams not in the Northeast (see previous sentence) have a snowballs chance in hell of winning a title.

thanks guys I see what you all are saying so I will come aboard with fixing the defense and the oline. and i hope i wasnt being negative for all i really want is to see the dolphins whip up on teams like the colts pats and jets .
I am living in a area that isnt freindly to dolphinfans so i get really bent out of shape and my passion overtakes my logic , what little that i have so I apologize if i come off negative.
