I assume that there will be an onslaught of "Chad Clifton could play RT for us";;;;;;;;;;;; threads heading our way. Failed physical does not always mean what it sounds like. It would seem like a Mark Colombo do over to me.

Too old. His good days are behind him. He was very good in his prime, but yes, I do see a Colombo type season if we were to get him. Unlike Sparano, I think Joe Philbin is competent enough to place this team's best interest ahead of his former players.

Easy to que them when you start it :chuckle:

Frustrating to still have issues on our line after having a "guru" for the past few years...

i'd still take a chance on him before i would have colombo...but health issues have killed clifton...too bad he was a heck of a player for a while there

Murtha will be a better than average OT for us if he can just stay healthy. Has he ever had a completely healthy year in college of pro???

I hope the S&C coaches have figured out what this guy needs to keep him going.

Dolphins need an elite OG and a couple potential laden OT prospects like Tom Condon and Jeff Adams. I have been touting these guys upside all off season and now they are
both zooming up boards. Last January they were 6th and 7th round prospects. Now they are 3rd and 4th round possibilities. Condon could even be the next Sebastian Vollmer and
go in the late 2nd.

I'd go with Tony Bergstrom and Tom Condon in the 3rd and Adams in the 4th. I'm convinced Bergstrom is going to be day 1 ready at LG. Condon and Adams both need a couple years but
both should be ready in 2014 if the Dolphins franchise Long next year.

Two thirds and a fourth spent on the OL is a heavy price tag but it would solidify the OL for years to come IMO.

Draft QB and DE/OLB in the 1st and 2nd this year and acquire the best WR for our scheme in FA next year.

After this rebuilding year the Dolphins would be set up for success the next 10 years. Just gotta build up the lines first.

I realize you meant Compton (others might not) so just wanted to throw that out there. As for the 3 guys you mentioned, i like Jeff Allen the best. He's the guy i would target in the 3rd. I think he could play either G or T and shows good feet and is a solid run blocker. I do like Bergstrom, but like you mentioned i think he moves inside b/c he has short arms and isn't the most athletic guy so he would probably struggle against speed rushers. He could definitely start early on b/c he's experienced and older than most, having served his Mormon mission. I would target Bergstrom and Compton in the 4th.

Later in the draft i would take a serious look at Dustin Waldron from Portland State.

Ya, they would have to be sure of Bergstrom to take him early in the third, but I doubt he would be available when we pick in the 4th. The only reason he doesn't go in the 2nd, IMO, is because of his age.

They could trade down in the third from either 3rd round pick and perhaps still get him. It would be nice to add a 4th or 5th round pick.

Ya, Tom Condon is and agent, WTH?

Ya, I think Compton could be a quality RT, but I think Jeff Adams is going to be a LT when he get's stronger and more experienced. Good feet, prototypical size, very good athleticism, long, long arms. Dolphins could possibly franchise Long in 2013 and then let him walk in 2014 and spend the money elsewhere if Adams was ready to start at LT.
