Quick Reminder

I can't say one bad thing about your optimism, and at least, what you are saying has merit and is not just blind homerism. The defense will be one to remember for years. The secondary is a little shaky, but hopefully this year is the year that Poole can finally play a full season, and show everyone what he was brought here for. The front 7 will make up for a lot of faults, though.

I agree with your assesment of the offense, and as long as ronnie can continue to become more dangerous, he will make it easier on everyone else. Here's hoping you are 100% right on every aspect

That pretty much sums it up..the only question is..can we take the hit..of the one hit wonder?

the thing with them is that they are just plainly well coached. They figured out a good system to train and prepare and then to adjust so that they can still be effective after their opponents have figured out what they were doing to them.
They have made ordinary players into very reliable contributors that rarely ever take a play off, or not execute. They are good at their job. But I do have to say that they are bringing in players with a lot of different personalities, and with bigger egos than they have in the past. I know about Dillon, but at the point that they signed him he had taken a huge blow to the ego when Rudi was outperforming him. Stallworth thinks his Sh** don't stink, and Adelius (sp?) from the ravens is getting hype from all over the place. I think the pats are showing a little more desperation this offseason to keep up their place among the elite. It could definitely bite them in the butt through the season, but the way their luck has been, and our lack of luck in the last decade, it'll probably work to perfection and they'll be back in the SB for the next 5 years.

I noticed, within your optimism you failed to talk about the oline! our consistent weak link for the last decade.

Great post... I was feeling a little down after reading about ANOTHER player the Pats got!!

I'm not trying to burst your hope bubble, but I need to see some consistency from this group of 'underachievers'. We have some great individual parts but they need to come together and play as an elite team every week!

The Pats won the division.
The Jets are pointing at us saying we have the rookie coach.
The Bills are going to get better.

Miami isn't scaring anyone right now. Hopefully the offense clicks 'on' this year and generate some excitement.

poole

WAS cut early weeks last season. After his injury healed the dolphins cut him and he never returned. He was not even signed on after season ended so sorry brother he is out of miami's plans now.

holy crap, where was I when that happened? So that's it, he's just out of football? I would think that I would have heard of him from some team trying to give him another chance, or even us for that matter with our lack of CB depth. At the very least for an extra camp body. Well then, that is definitely a position that needs to show something or get a good young body in there to help out.

Dolphins Fans...

Don't get caught up in the past. Don't confuse yourself like that. Don't get all caught up in talk.

The Dolphins have a really good team. They have been UNDERACHIEVING. Remember that. They are better than they performed last season for sure.

Miami has kept its defense intact. They added JOEY PORTER!! For Christ's sake... the Dolphins could have the best LB core in the NFL this season. How are teams going to run against that? They kept Traylor and Holiday. How are teams going to run against that? Taylor and Roth rushing the QB. It goes on and on.

CULPEPPER. The target for criticism. It's all garabge. Don't listen. There is no way Culpepper will play as bad as he did last year. Brown and Hagan are going to be better. If Ricky comes back, the running game will be one of the best in the league. We are talking about 1600+ yards here. And Chambers... he can't play like he did last season. That just isn't the Chambers we all know.

And what about the draft? Miami has great draft options this year. They will get a few starting caliber players from this draft.

The Dolphins are a really good team. The Patriots have to try and piece something together. They are trying to put together a "one hit wonder" for old time's sake. The Jets had a big ROOKIE year last season with their new head coach. But can they do it again? Probably not. And the Bills aren't really getting any better this offseason.

Don't get caught up. The Dolphins are very capable of being a playoff team right now.

GO PHINS!!!!!!! :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

 100% agree....good to see there are people out there that are actually following along, and not just looking at the record.

I thought Will Poole was released last year?

And our oline got worse over the offseason and we have backup tight ends at best. Our quarterback situation is awful. While I hope he rebounds, Daunte is in rough shape. Lemon is a backup for a reason. Our secondary is horrible and we have absolutely no depth at any position.

While I hope and pray that we will be competitive, don't get your hopes up.

Secondary and the Oline...We get that clicking..we are a playoff team.

That's exactly why RandyCam have been wheeling and dealing to acquire draft picks. They plan on improving our team through the draft with young hungry players instead of guys just wanting a huge payday. That way we get players taught our style of football with no bad habits. Always "raise your own", you'll be far better off in the long run.
