I know some of you are disappointed that we haven't signed the marquee player(s) that you think would make in impact for this team, but here's what we have done:

  • Re-signed players (Carey, Bell, Crowder) who we know will make an impact when they hit the field.
  • We signed a proven safety in Gibril Wilson to sure up the free safety position
  • Acquired draft picks and haven't bit on trades
We are still rebuilding, and that is done through the draft. Look at what Washington has been doing for several years. They have made big free agent pushes and look what it has gotten them. The Jets last year signed an excess amount of free agents and they still missed the playoffs. We brought in guys we needed to, and drafted guys that could make a difference now and in the future and we had the best turnaround in NFL history.

Is there any doubt in your mind what will occur this offseason? We will bring in guys who we need, and build through the draft. We will get a young player base with a mix of smart veteran leadership, and in a few years they will be ready to take the wheel and we will be set. And as the formula continues over the years with smart FO moves, the success will continue.

Be patient. More players will hit the market, and we will definitely be signing a few players in the next week who will come here knowing their contributions will be a big part of this team's success.

The re-signings are the only thing that really excite me. Getting Gibril Wilson was a surprising move, and a move that was needed, but i'm not all that excited by it. I would have liked to see what was available through the draft, rebuild our secondary there, not with these castoff free agents none of whom are all that appealing.

Free Agency is kind of a dud this year, i really don't like ANYBODY out there.

Jason Brown was the guy i wanted, we weren't able to get him. Coles i wanted when he hit the market because of how good a fit i believe he is, but it doesn't look like we're getting him either.

So hopefully this FO has a STRONG draft, or it's going to be a really really disappointing season next year.
