I was watching sportscenter and they were comparing the prospects to today's nfl players
Quinn was compared to Carr
Russel was compared to culpepper
Gaines adams was compared to Jason taylor
Patrick willis was compared to Zach thomas
Calvin johnson was compare to a T.O and Randy Moss But a Gooder version with a mouth of Marvin Harrison caliber. All round good player.

That's a decent comparison. I actually mentioned that comparison in a thread last week. The comparison that I think is better though is Chris Simms.

If you compare the two: Carr & Quinn physical measurables, college career stats, etc. there is no difference! However, Carr just signed with Carolina - 2 years 6 million dollars vs. Quinn - 4 years 35-55 million dollars. Carr is older, more beat up but a little less expensive, just a little.

Quinn has been compared to a lot of terrible quarterbacks including Joey Harrington. Of course he compares himself to Tom Brady . :sidelol:
He doesn't win big games and quarterbacks from Notre Dame are generally overated. He doesn't look much like Tom Brady to me.

Thank you I would rather draft Levi brown, then drew stanton, dwayne jarett etc.

I think the comparisons to Carr are fair. When I hear Peyton and Brady I just laugh. It amazes me how so many people get draft fever at this time of year. They've seen the next Tom Brady, Lawrence Taylor, Jason Taylor yadayadayada... Quinn is nothing special. He's one of the top three QBs in a weak QB class. Russell could be special though.

For some reason, as a finfan, I am offended that they would compare willis to Zach. Zach was an unknown 5th round pick who had to bust his *** for everything he has achieved in the nfl. zach was not a first round pick with teams lined up to take him. he was/is a hard working overachiever, (Not my most eloquent post but i hope you guys feel me on this...)

When you think of David Carr, don't think of a bust. He had absolutely NO chance to succeed in Houston. No line to protect him at all. I think he could've been or could still be a good QB in this league.

i personally think he will end up starting around mid way through the season in carolina and be decent if not good.

This is the result of too much idle time before the draft. They've got to start thinking this junk up just to fill the time. :rolleyes2

When Tom Brady was being drafted he wasn't the next Brady either. Quinn is a much better prospect coming out of college than Brady. You post makes me laugh because it is so smug.:sidelol:

Edwards reminds me of Carr because he seems to have the blame elude him whenever people mention his losing.

Quinn is a complete boom or bust for me. He could be solid despite some a ceiling of skills, like Brees, but on the other hand his swagger and game do remind me of Joey Harrington.
I still would love to draft him on Saturday, but if he is gone I would gladly take Kolb or Beck.

You can't compare Quinn with Carr. Carr was a Tedford QB, meaning he's more similar to Joey Harrington, AJ Feeley, and Aaron Rodgers than to Quinn. Quinn at best is similar to fellow Weis product Tom Brady, which would make sense considering Quinn's borrowed lots of Tom Brady tapes from the Pats. To compare Quinn to Brady is not as far a stretch as comparing all those other players to current NFL players.
