The Buccaneers were reportedly close to signing free agent quarterback Jeff Garcia late Friday night.

Talks between Garcia and Oakland broke off Friday evening and the ex-Eagle turned his attention to Tampa Bay. The deal could be announced as soon as Saturday, according to the Tampa Tribune, although the St. Petersburg Times reports Garcia remains on the Texans' radar.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Houston wants to trade up to the No. 3 pick for a chance to select Oklahoma tailback Adrian Peterson.
The Texans would reportedly be willing to send David Carr and their first-rounder (No. 8 overall) to Cleveland in exchange for the No. 3 pick.

This would make Quinn slide pretty far in the draft....

1.OAK- Reports say they are leaning towards Russell
2.DET- Has stated they won't take QB Probably Joe Thomas
3.HOU- If trade happens they move here and take Peterson
4.BUCS- If they get Garcia they probably would take Calvin Johnson here
5.ARI- Already have Leinart
6.WAS- Already have Cambell
7.MIN- Have High hopes for Travaris Jackson
8.CLE- With trade they get Carr
9.MIA-Possible landing spot/maybe not with C-Pep here
10.ATL- Vick and Shaub no chance
11.SF- Alex Smith to much money invested in a young guy
12.BUF- Young JP Losman I hate him but they love him
13.STL-Probably wouldn't take him due to Bulger
14.CAR- He would most likely get taken here but they just resigned Delhomme
15.PIT- Big Ben young and expensive
16.GB- Would most likely take him they hate Rodgers
17.JAX-To many QB already
18.CIN- Carson Palmer pro bowler
19.TEN- Vince Young looked great as a rookie
20.NYG- Eli Manning stuggled but is still young and expensive
21.DEN- Jay Cutler young and looked good for a rookie
22.DAL-Tony Romo young and looked really good last year
23.KC- Might take him but they just drafted Croyle and they think he might be the future
24.NE- Tom Brady yeah right
25.NYJ- They have pennington but are looking for the future
26.PHI- Donovan Mcnabb cant creat controversy with him
27.NO- Drew Brees just signed a huge contract and was pro bowler
28.NE-SEE 24
29.BAL- Mcnair is older and Boller is not the answer
30.SD- Phillip Rivers no chance
31.CHI-No real QB they would take him
32.IND- Manning is god

So What do you think? If this trade and that Garcia signs, where does Brady Quinn go?

If he gets past us the Panthers would take him in a heartbeat, especially with the way Delhomme has played the past two seasons. I wouldn't rule out St Louis taking him either, he could sit behind Bulger for a couple of seasons a la Phillip Rivers and give them a decent young nucleus with Steven Jackson and Alex Barron on offense.

If he is there, I hope we take him. I really can't see us passing on him.

As much as I would love to have him, I just don't see him sliding that far. Even those these so called "draft experts" say he's sliding, none of them are GM's for any team. But then again, we also have to consider free agency for every team. They'll draft according to what they need after FA. So a team that needs a QB now, might not later. But a team that needs help elsewhere, might have to bulk up in the draft. So its anyone's guess.
But I'd love to have him. Set him as our 2nd or 3rd string this season, then watch him grow. Like you said...ala Philip Rivers.

All we can do is watch, wait, and hope.

While it could help our chances, it still is no lock. He still could go with any number of teams in the top 10 spots. Even if a team gets a stop-gap QB, what's to keep them from drafting him for a future role. I hope he does, as he could be what we need at the QB spot for many years to come. Cpep may work out, but then again, maybe he won't. I'd rather have two good QB's than 0 like the last several years. Good problem to have at the most important position on the roster! Guess we'll see what happens. It's been a crazy off-season so far and I think things will continue. A lot of changes around the league and we just need to be smart!

i really hope we dont draft him...hes falling for a reason, and that is his weak arm

Dan Marino fell to 27th
Joe Montana fell to the 3rd round
Tom Brady fell to the 6th round
:D

Yea, Marino fell because he had an alleged cocaine issue. It isn't even fair to compare those to Brady Quinn. Seriuosly, what has Quinn really accomplished. I hope to God we dont draft him. I'd rather take Drew Stanton in the second if he still there. Stanton can move outside the pocket which is good safety valve for a young qb when a play breaks down.

Okay, why did Joe (4 rings) Montana fall then?
Why did Tom (3 rings) Brady fall then?

Their stock never fell. They weren't really considered high end prospects when they were drafted. Obviously, they turned out to be great. I think some of you want a franchise qb so bad that your willing over look a players short comings. I dont think Quinn is the player many you seem to think he is. Just because we draft a qb in the first round doesn't mean he's going to be a franchise qb. If we draft Quinn with the 9th pick or 30th pick he's still the same player regardless. However, I would rather have Quinn than Russell if given the choice, but IMO niether one them will be a great player on the next level. :D
