Quinn Ewers.

Even if Manning had already established he was a top prospect, which is not the case, and even if that were the convoluted plan, which I highly doubt, do you not remember how the Manning manipulate their landing spots to avoid situations they don't like?
Yup, we gotta make our team an attractive landing spot for Lil Arch.

This draft was a step in the right direction.

I think for whatever reason his durability has been poor since his days at Alabama?

I think part of it is his style of play?…holds the ball too long…tries to truck defenders instead of throwing it away…plays hero ball etc etc etv….

Not a cheap shot at all…just a fact and reality?

The fact is he’s suffered way to many concussions and it will undoubtedly affect his future?

Orrrrrrr because he played a real NFL line in college against college DLs. He had all the time in the world back there. His hip injury came off of him trying to extend a play while running outside of the pocket.

We agree about a lot but two things here.

It's hard to erase two + decades of meh with a few draft picks.

Manning has yet to do anything substantial as a collegiate.

Do ppl really put that much praise on a guy because of nothing more than lineage? I just can't make that leap until I see it on the field. Manning's sample size is both miniscule and unnoteworthy.

I agree

We need to keep at it. 1 draft isn't close to fixing all the past errors.

And as far as Arch, you're right as well, There are no guarantees he will meet expectations or stay healthy for that matter, but if we build a team that would pass the Manning family test, we should have no problem plugging in any other QB we may want to succeed Tua.

I do think this draft will save Grier job, he needs to stay at it.

The way it appears to me (any conclusion is speculation at this point) that it would take a big collapse to unseat Grier.

That's why some are "predicting" a 5 win season, for example. Their predictions are more based on wishes to get a new GM, rather than the actual circumstances of the team.

Cannon-armed with a lightning-quick release, He can really sling it, excelling in play-action and no-huddle. He can extend plays with his feet and, as he displayed at his recent Pro Day, has no qualms throwing on the run a la Patrick Mahomes or Russell Wilson. An electric scrambler with prototypical size for the position, there’s a certain swagger to his game, often manifesting itself in daring, highlight-reel throws that few others would even attempt. The 21-year-old’s 73.5 completion percentage last season speaks to his improved accuracy.

Sounds amazing!

Oh wait this isn't Ewers profile....

It's Zach Wilsons

Yup. Im not thrilled about keeping Grier, but at least I can see he is making an effort. At this point thats all I can ask.

We got our qb guys! Let’s go….🙄

Fins needed a developmental QB to develop. I was hoping for Kyle McCord out of Syracuse who the Eagles took, but Ewers is fine, as there is definitely upside there. All in all, a good pick, but also really curious why they didn't grab Sanders?

Let’s be realistic here, Tua is the guy until he’s not. However, as we are all aware, Tua’s health is always going to be a concern because he’s yet to prove he can be durable. He’s been a full time starter for four seasons and only played a full season’s worth of games once. It’s difficult to build a Super Bowl contender around a quarterback that isn’t always available.

This pick was all about adding another quarterback to the depth chart. Ewers has enough talent and upside to be a starter in the NFL if he puts it all together. In the 7th round he presents excellent value. If he develops and takes an opportunity, great. Flip side, if he doesn’t develop or take an opportunity, then it’s only a 7th round pick. Day three is usually where teams draft depth chart players or take punts on those with upside.

End of the day, if Tua stays healthy then Ewers and Wilson will not see the field, but as we all know, Tua missing some time is more likely than playing all 17 games, so we need some QB talent to back him up. Would we be better off finding the next Matt Moore? Of course, but perhaps Wilson or Ewers can be that guy. Let’s wait and see.
Great take…I think the odds of a man who is physically not durable and also has had increasingly worse head injuries staying healthy is improbable?

This organization shouldn’t have drafted him…and compounded the mistake by awarding him the huge contract?

This team will have to find a true starter soon …and taking a flyer on the winningest QB in college football over the last three years, who also has clear arm talent with a special release in the 7th round is smart!

Which is exactly what I said… Instead of throwing the ball away and living for the next play, he tried to play hero ball?… those who watched Marino know that he realized the necessity of getting rid of the football and taking as few hits as possible.

And still… Marino got hit a lot and also played in an era where the quarterbacks weren’t as protected?

Well said…this organization needs to be searching for its long term all the time!

Really doesn’t have a special arm…. Dealing with his father? For whatever reason NFL teams shoved him to later in the draft!

I’m actually more intrigued by Ewers!
