Quinn Ewers.

Fins needed a developmental QB to develop. I was hoping for Kyle McCord out of Syracuse who the Eagles took, but Ewers is fine, as there is definitely upside there. All in all, a good pick, but also really curious why they didn't grab Sanders?
With Wilson and Ewers the Fins actually have two high upside developmental QBs on the roster behind their starter. When have we ever credibly believed that? Coaches should be excited to get their hands on these two.

I like Ewers. I think he's a good developmental type player, who McDaniel can mold into something.

But with all the needs at DB and Dline, I'd have not gone Ewers. Just my personal preference.

But now that he's a Dolphin, I'm going to root like hell for the kid. He actual was one of my favorite draft prospects.
Does the haul of UDFAs at various defensive positions (not to mention some intriguing OL and WRs) change your assessment of the Ewers pick? IMO there is very little risk and a lot of potential upside there.

…I don’t like Grier and I don’t think he did good in this draft overall. But sticking to the players you want to draft and your draft board would literally be want you want to do.

If you have a player that falls that isn’t on your draftboard, he’s not on your board for a reason.
I ain't gm but I saw few other players. That was better. Than players we got. After the 2nd rd.

If Ewers turns into a Brock Purdy and Tua stays healthy and plays well, we just turned a 7th round pick into a first or second rounder in a year or two.

Its a win-win pick. I'm glad we were able to grab someone that talented in the 7th round.

Yea from a value proposition it's a good move. Kinda like a lottery ticket, better than taking a corner who never woulda played a down.

Still think Zach Wilson has more talent if he can ever figure out how to harness his athletic ability and become a real QB.

Three years. Don't kid yourself. The goal here is to draft big and have everything in place to make Miami the best landing spot for Arch Manning.

So now the weekend warrior draft experts that think they know everything are lobbying for a QB that’s not been able to become a full time starter during his collegiate 2 seasons and hasn’t shown much of anything yet.

All because his last name is “Manning”.

Good, great, grand, wonderful.

The kid might end up being a worthwhile prospect, who knows. But at this point in time, it’s absolute silly talk given the current production and tape.

Would also point out that drafting Ewers was probably the only way to get him. Can't envision him coming in as a UDFA (if possible I suppose he might have returned to some school for another NIL payday).

I'm not with you on Wilson. Living in NY, Ive seen him play quite a bit. He's a horrible choker and refuses to take responsibility. Always made ecxuses for his poor play. Maybe the lights were too bright for him, but I think he's a bum. The sooner he's off the team, the better.

I'm a fan of Ewers dating back to his 1st collegiate season. I always thought highly of him. Not sure what happened last season, causing his drop off.

As for how the UDFA affect my view of Ewers. The UDFA class appears to be very good and quite possibly the best in years.

I'm on board with McDaniel taking a flier in the seventh on a talented yet somewhat lost in the shuffle college QB.

My point on the drafting of another position other than taking Ewers is more about the feeling Miami screwed up in round 5 and had a chance to take a guy like Cobee Bryant who'd have corrected the mistakes. But again like I said, Ewers is talented and I'm rooting for him. He just wouldn't been my personal choice at that spot.

Low risk investment to see if his attitude changes on a backup contract. But if true it only further validates the pick for Ewers.

He was also in a terrible situation on the Jets with a lot of pressure on him, he’s spent the past year learning from Sean Payton who’s one of the best guys around for developing young qbs, and his physical attributes are off the charts.

Give the kid a chance, he was very immature and needed to grow up, he got his reality check and I think he will play better for us than he has anywhere else, even though that’s not saying much

I liked Bryant too (though Nohl Williams was my main crush the Chiefs wisely moved up for him well before the Dolphins had a shot) but since the Dolphins passed on him to take Marshall I have to think they felt he was a better fit for Weaver's scheme at the CB position. Only way to get Ewers was to draft him IMO, and if the Fins had really wanted Bryant they just had to outbid the Falcons and evidently chose not to. Time will tell.

Tua can’t stay on the field… As we already knew from this time in Alabama, which is why he should never have been drafted.. but honestly… Tua’s release isn’t as quick as Ewers…and Obviously not Marino’s!

Looking forward to seeing Ewers in Pre-season!😉

Man there is plenty to hate on Tua, especially injuries and that is the reason we need a new QB. But your hatred for Tua makes you clueless when it comes to evaluating QBs. You just make **** up. Tua literally has the quickest recorded release in football. Yes faster then Marino and yes I watched Marino play ever year and he is my favorite player ever. But I don't need to make up ****.

We agree about a lot but two things here.

It's hard to erase two + decades of meh with a few draft picks.

Manning has yet to do anything substantial as a collegiate.

Do ppl really put that much praise on a guy because of nothing more than lineage? I just can't make that leap until I see it on the field. Manning's sample size is both miniscule and unnoteworthy.
This is something that’s been bothering me as well. Everyone knows the Manning name and Archie was a great HS prospect but we haven’t really seen him do anything in college yet. There’s no guarantee that he’s going to light the world on fire in 25 and prove to be the unquestioned number one pick next year. In fact, at this point it seems like if he has a passably adequate season it will be overvalued by the hype machine and some poor franchise will think they’re getting a Gibson Les Paul only to find out over time it’s a Sears knockoff.
