do ya'll see this as a Confidence issue? quinn and smith both said they want to play for the browns. Is that b/c they are around the area or something and the fans might favor them so they dont have to worry about going to the big city or what not and deal with fans that are JUST getting to know the guy which means more pressure on the QB?

I do recall hearing Quinn complaining before the LSU game b/c of all the talk going on and jim rome said wait until ur the number 1 pick, we'll see how u handle that pressure if u can't handle all this regarding just a bowl game.

Dont mean to be rude but thats just rediculous. If you had NFL talent wouldnt you rather play for the Phins? They both are from the area and were Browns fans growing up, they just want to play for the team they used to root for and let it be known, hoping to coax the browns into drafting them.

Has nothing to do with being "scared"

Quinn is smart he knows Oakland and Detroit are dead end jobs that will hurt his career. Smith knows he's not high on anyones list due to his size so he's trying to sell himself to Cleveland as the hometown boy.

quinn knows he is the one that could fall off the face of the planet so to speak in the first round (ala Smith, Leinert, etc...) So taking the hometown approach might get him drafted high. But there is also the personal aspect of he is closer to his family, his comfort level will be higher since he will be familiar with the area, and he has to be PC. He will play for anyone and would love to play there is asked. Smith knows he will slip but he doesnt know how far so he is trying to get drafted higher. The family, PC, and comfort level also aplies to him as well.

This is just a ridiculous assertion. If Quinn didnt want the spot light he wouldnt have gone and played QB at ND. And the talk before the LSU game was about how everyone kept saying how bad ND was. He never complained about the spotlight. He is posturing with Browns because 1) it's the hometown team and 2) if they bite he is the 3rd overall pick and makes himself a ton of money. It doesnt matter what team he goes to he'll have pressure and media scrutiny. Stop trying to psycho analyze players based on one press clipping.

I have news for Quinn and Smith. The chance that both of them end up with the Browns is slim and none ....and slim just left town.

Im guessing it has more to do with getting more money from being drafted higher.

neither one probably wants to play for the raiders and Detroit's probably going with a safe pick like joe thomas, so that leaves cleveland.

more money the higher up they get drafted?

I dont think either of theses guys are scared...I think they are both from Ohio. Lebron pulled the same thing back in 03 to get drafted by the Cavs.

good call :rolleyes2 I'm sure they both thought they'd be picked by the Browns and were already looking forward to being teammates. Any other breaking news?

waht is PC?

politically correct...Basically, Quinn has to say that he would play for anybody that drafts him, even though he would prefer to go to Cleveland, and not pull an Eli Manning.
