Who is this guy? The first time I heard him was when he got a sack early in training camp and I shrugged it off...figured even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while...but his name keeps coming up. It's a sack or more at every practice.

He's obviously an undrafted rookie, played at Prairie View A&M as a DE, 6'4" 234 lbs...playing OLB now. I wonder if he would have even gotten a chance had they not expanded the training camp roster to 90.

Has anyone noticed this guy at practice? He wears #48.

Watchin this guy you dont say "hes just camp fodder" No wonder you noticed him...

Nice motor. Nice spin move at the 58 second mark too.

I wonder if we can stash this kid away on the practice squad for a year and let him bulk up a bit.

if we going to stash him
then his play would have to be limited in the preseason
if the kid comes out gets a couple sacks
then you gotta leave him on your 53 or risk losing him..

cool name spears like he tore someone a new one

I hope he can make the squad, looks good on tape. Well see how he does against real talent.

He wouldnt last much on the PS.I mean why stash him on the PS if he proves he can contribute right away? You dont wana risk losin him.I love JT but this kid is faster, more agile, younger and would help us more in the long run.

looks good on that video BUT lots of people look good on a highlight video thats the point... I sure hope he is actually as good as the video shows that would be great

But what he did show us there was that he is a high motor player with explosiveness and a nice arsenal of pass rush moves. Hopefully he can make a contribution on special teams (which he blocked a lot of kicks in college so I think he can). If he can do that, he could be like a James Harrison type that does it on special teams for a couple of years and then takes the league by storm. Hopefully he shows us enough to make the roster and contribute on special teams.

True but I'm trying to think who's spot he would take on the roster. It would be a lot easier if he were in ILB then he could just take Spitler's spot. At OLB we have Wake, Misi, Alama-Francis, Taylor...and I think that might be it as far as guys who will stick on the roster, maybe Jason Trusnik. Not sure how many OLB we will carry.

As for his film, yeah he looks good but he's also playing against FBS competition. He's definitely showing some stuff in camp though.

Id cut alama-francis or even JT.

meanwhile, ESPN's Tim whatshisname says Patriots have taken a looksie at matt roth and the LB we got from Oakland , his name escapes me already...go figure.

One way to keep him is put him on special teams, maybe this would justify keeping 5 OLB's. As far as his size, JT is only about an inch taller and 10-15 lbs heavier so it wouldn't take much to for him to gain the weight needed.

He is grossly underweight and needs to get stronger and bulk up.

He is a perfect candidate for the PS.

The first thing he has to do is beat out Jonathan Freeny for that spot. Freeny is bigger and stronger and had a better body of work in college while playing against tougher competition.
