Quinton Spears

10 Lbs is easy. As to wo who he'd replace, IAF is on thin ice, and TRUSNIK's a S/Ts marvel. SPITLER hasn't impressed, and always seemed a little small for MIAMI's "system". That's 3 LBs who can be cut, and I'd start w/IAF, unless he starts showing something, and soon. TRUSNIK'd go next, if SPEARS shows ANYTHING on S/Ts...otherwise, he's "neck and neck" w/SPITLER. I'd keep SPITLER, if he can bulk up about ten Lbs and still be effective. But,...

He is grossly underweight and needs to get stronger and bulk up.

He is a perfect candidate for the PS.

The first thing he has to do is beat out Jonathan Freeny for that spot. Freeny is bigger and stronger and had a better body of work in college while playing against tougher competition.

I haven't read Freeney's name once. He's not showing up like Spears.

I think the LB to watch in preseason this year is Mike Rivera.

Rivera just has too much to offer not to make the 53.

Smart and known for great instincts, he is a better athlete than the rookies or Spitler or Trusnik.

It will be very very hard for Spears,Freeny, or the Mark dude they signed after they cut Dobbins, to beat out Rivera or Spitler. In fact the real battle may be between Spitler and Rivera. Rivera may actually have a little advantage in that like Trusnik he can play inside or outside.

duno man i prefer keepin a young player with potential than losin him and keepin a pretty much done player.

Yeah I hear what your saying. It's gonna be a tough call if Spears balls out in the preseason.

Gonna be some tough calls to make at WR too. Marshall and Bess are locked in, Hartline is having a real good camp, Gates is opening some eyes, Pruitt is having a very nice camp and then you have Wallace and Moore.

Based on wr play in camp you can see why they didn't sign a number of wrs in free agency or as undrafted player (Livas the only one, and more for KR).
The Dolphins are loaded with good young wrs.
