QUOTE
"I got nailed on the one where they threw the flag, which I told Roth latter. I said, ‘You nailed me!’ He said, ‘Oh you gave me a great fake.’ I looked right at him with no ball in my hand, and I saw him coming and he just hit me anyways. I guess they just wanted to test me. [He] knocked me silly for about thirty seconds."

MY TAKE
This makes me feel very active, makes me feel very like much a whale in the sea of football, if you catch my drift. Brett Favre has a sense of life when he sees matt roth. I could tell in his voice a sort of intrigue into what makes matt roth, matt roth!:bake:

I still think that flag was crap. If a QB is gonna carry out the fake in anyway, he better expect to get hit.

Thats how it works on the other end. Whenever they run play action the RB is expecting to get nailed.

Agreed!

If it had been some lesser known QB it might not have been called.

Yeah I seen that when Favre spoke during the replay of the game..

I think Favre was just pissed that someone would hit him like that....

When he said " I looked right at him with no ball in my hand, and I saw him coming and he just hit me anyways"....well that was a Joke because the angle Roth hit him he couldn't even see Favre's hands let alone if he had a ball in his hand. Favre was still playing out the fake and had his hands hidden from Roth.

seeing how the fins had just got burned on a pa fake this call was a sack of stew. if a qb turns his back to carry out a fake he should be fair game he can face the play to protect himself.

Favre needs to realize he's a football player, not a porcelain statue... That's why you wear the pads! He's known for carying out good playactions, and then he complains when he gets hit carying one out?! Come on... Although, come to think of it, he might as well be a statue since he gets treated like one by the refs.

Its called automatic entitlement for a 17 year pro / future HOFer. Its probably not fair, it gives him a heightened sense of importance over the other players, but its the way of the NFL and the world for that matter if one wants to go deeper.

But Matt Roth failed us on that forced fumble play in that he could of CRUSHED Favre and I am angry that he did not.

Remember when the Giants players broke Joe Montana's back on a clean hit! Not that I wish that on Brett, but to hit him as hard as humanly possible would have changed that game.

Its like a Jordan flying dunk!

Roth is a freak of nature and needs to catch his groove and make opposing QB's fear for their lives! Just ask Brady because Roth woke that boy up fast!

I think Roth has been a big surprise. I think he shows a lot of potential. He definitely has the mentality of a nasty OLB.

Enough with the short arms cr-p. He has a great non-stop motor and is very aggressive. It's early, but I see potential in him.

Flag or not I'm glad he hit him and hope he gets praised for it in camp
