I am a huge R. Brown fan and am very happy with Saban's decision to draft him. The guy never stops running, and has a huge heart. With that said, today a friend asked me if I think the Dolphins should have drafted a QB this year instead of Ronnie, and then trade up to get Bush in this draft. Right away I went to say Ronnie, but the idea of having a young QB with year under his belt in the new system, Ricky back, and Bush made me wonder. I told him that Bush is amazing but Ronnie is no chump. A strong running game will assist a young QB more than the reverse, so I am happy with the decision. I can not deny that I did give it some serious consideration.

What do you think?

no way. brown is a complete back, and we would've probably taken alex smith, and no thanks to that

Bush will not be a great back in league he dances way to much

Ronnie Brown. Brown is a RB who can block well, catch well and of course run well. There is no doubt that Bush can run well, but Brown can put fear in the defenders when he is getting ready to run over them.

That is an impossible question for this board! Brown is proven to be good so you have to say that. But I wished at the time we could get a QB, I hope we tried. And i hope we do again, Brown is great though, a real bright spot.

Give me ronnie brown any day of the week. Bush will probably be used the way the Bengals are using Chris perry right now, split out a wr, and taking about 4-5 carries a game.IMO

Watch Reggie Bush slam his head into a wall like Frerotte did.

Not saying it will happen, it's just gut instinct.

Anyways, I'd take Brown WAY over Bush.

I'll take Ronnie...the guy will be a 1,500/40 catch/15 TD back for the next decade.

highly unlikely that he will be playing that long.

Bush is outstanding in college. He will probably dominate in the pros as well, considering that his speed is almost unmatchable.

Regardless, I dont think you could go wrong with either.

I'll never dispute that Bush looks great.... But lets remember it's college. I'm not saying that Bush won't be a star... But the NFL is a different beast. The worst player was still a star on his college team.

We have so many needs... Brown is quality.. and will be a staple of our offense for sometime to come.

Let's concentrate on our needs rather than think ONE guy will lead us to the promised land. Barry Sanders and Detroit are a perfect example of that.

So are Dan and the Dolphins if you look at it that way. I think Ronnie is the more complete back and will be more durable that Bush. Saban drafted the best player of the draft.

I think if their was a better QB coming out than Alex Smith and Rodgers then it would be a great idea. If we got Leinart last year then I would go get a playmaker this year because Ricky could still carry the load. But it didn't work out that way and we are going to have to get a QB somehow this year which is a lot better because this year is potentially a QB fish market:
Vince Young*
Brady Quinn*
Omar Jacobs*
Matt Leinart
Jay Cutler
David Carr
Phillip Rivers
Patrick Ramsey
Drew Brees

Potential being key word, only about 4-5 of those QB's will be available one way or another.

Exactly.

In addition if Bush is to fill an every down back role, he will have to gain about 20 more pounds. How will that effect his athletic abilities on the NFL level? Will he be as fast?
