Take a moment to consider this. What if there were no Ricky on Miami this year, and Linehan gave Ronnie 15-25 carries per game. Can you imagine his numbers at the end of the season, barring injury? Is it a stretch to think we'd be looking at 1200-1400 yards with 10 TD's?

Even as good as Ricky is, and even after his very impressive TD run, I still want to see R. Brown in the backfield as much as possible. Given the chance, I feel he could put up some ridiculous numbers. He is so difficult to tackle, and now that he seems to have the feel of things, I think he could be one of the leagues very best runners - even THIS year.

Given the scenario above (no Ricky, commit to the running game), what would you forecast R. Brown's 16-game stats to look like?

I was thinking the same thing yesterday and would like to see him get more carries. On the other hand maybe Saban's thinking that Ronnie's our future and he won't run him into the ground when he knows we're not going anywhere this year so maybe that's why he's holding his carries back a little. Also,Ricky's trade bait imo and we need to showcase him too.We can really use another high pick and Ricky can bring us that.I'm sure you'll see Ronnie getting more carries next year.Still, I'm with you, I'd love to see him et 20 carries a game.

Ozzy rules!!

well seeing as how he's already on pace to get over 1,200 yards with very limited carriees I think he'd be looking at more like 1,500 or above

Yep, and even sharring carries w/ Ricky he's still doin better than the so called Cadillac :D

I've been anti-Carnell Williams since the beginning of the season I was watching that lame show Around the Horn and there was one guy on there just sayin how much better Caddy was than Ronnie. And then I saw similar comments in a few other places online...

Theres a reason Ronnie went #2 and Caddy went #7

I think its obvious to see why so far this season..

I used to think that Ricky was going to way out shine Ronnie, after watching them both run there is no doubt in my mind that Ronnie is a better back. He runs harder and blocks better. It has been a real pleasant suprise having Ronnie around expecially knowing that he is going to be a great back for years to come.

Ronnie would put up great numbers if Ricky weren't here but if you took Ronnie away, Ricky would put up great numbers himself. I'm happy with things just the way they are.

Right - I don't disagree with how Saban is using him along with Ricky, with the exception that I'd like to see more attempts overall. I understand why Ricky is in the mix. It's just that part of me would love to see the monster #'s R. Brown would put up if the gig was all his.

Isn't it a bit ironic that these guys might actually flourish in Wanny's terrible system?? (I don't want that back though!...)

except he went #5...

#'s dont matter
its the score at the end that counts

im glad ricky is back to split time because it allows us to have two fresher RB's in the 4th quarter
not to be offensive and im a huge finfan BUT all you can what if all you want but what if Cadillac had someone to share carries with?? he might not have got hurt and he would be fresher in the 4th

so be happy we have ricky and ronnie sharing carries because its best for both of them

You forget Ricky gives Ronnie Brown a break to keep his legs fresh all game long.If Ricky wasn't in Miami Ronnie would not have the YPC like he does now.

No, I'm not forgetting that. I agree his YPC would go down, but I feel if he had his 25 carries like the other premier backs, he would have a 200 yard game by now, and probably a bunch more TD's. Again, I'm not arguing with how they're using them, just stating how impressive the overall stats would be, otherwise.

Even if Ricky was on the Bucs... Caddy would have gotten hurt before Ricky returned from the suspention...

Guys Ronnie will get over 100 yards and 2 tds vs Pats this week.
