R.I.P. Andra Franklin

Ahhhh, Andra Franklin. Unfortunately, he'll always be remembered for fumbling the ball away against the Chargers in '82. He was a strong runner, man.
Very sad and so young. Terrible.

When I was 7 years old and playing in a community flag-football league in San Jose, Franklin came to a league meeting to speak with us. He was trying out for the 49ers at the time, I think. My dad knew that I was a Dolphins fan and reminded me to bring my Dolphins pennant, which I nervously asked Franklin to sign. That pennant was on my wall for years until my dad's cat mauled it.

Duriel Harris to Tony Nathan on that one.....I think.

Anyway, RIP Mr. Franklin.

It seems that alot of the football players from the 70's and 80's are dying at young ages. I wonder if the punishmment they took an the field and the steroid use (before testing) attributed to their deaths. Sad.....

Did you kill the cat?

R.I.P. Mr. Franklin! This is sad news. 47 is too young. Unfortunately my lasting memory of Andra Franklin is "The Fumble" in the 82 divisional playoff classic against the Chargers. We were killing the clock, pounding the rock, about to seal the game and then....... Tragedy!!!!!

On another note, Andra(2nd round) and David Overstreet(1st round) were drafted together with the idea that they would be our backfield of power and speed during the early and mid 80's. Obviously this never materialized, but what if? I say we may have gotten a ring during the Dan's early years. Such a shame!

Scary, David Woodley, Reggie Roby, now Andra Franklin, all dead.
I loved those pre-Marino teams of the early 80s, maybe because I was in my teens, and can remember those games like they were yesterday.
Anyone remember Tommy Vigorito, and his 80+ punt return for a TD against the Steelers on a Thursday night game?
Those were the good ole days.

right on. Those pre-Marino days were pretty special. Man, that Orange Bowl used to rock. We were a great team. Welker is our present version of Vigorito. Funny, they play about the same exact roles, they're both white, and they look to be about the same size.

Reggie Roby died? where was I on that? RIP Andra Franklin.....your memories will run on.

Franklin had a very unique style of running but it was effective..He had some big days playing for us.

Seeing these old time Dolphins pass away reminds us of our own mortality.
RIP Andra.

The most important thing about life, is that it WILL be over some day.
