Hi Dolphans, I'm really worried about the CB/S position. I like Daniels and Bell but Poole hasn't played a snap and we'll probably draft one in either the 1st or 2nd round. That's making very little experience. I think we need a veteran guy. On the free agency list, there's not a whole lot but I thought McQuarters was the best one available. I also remember we had interest in him last year. Any other ideas ???

I think Saban will find cb's that will fit the talent to his schemes. That may not be high profile players but I'm not worried about getting big name corners. I started a thread yesterday about why alot of people think the days of shut down corners is over due to new rules in favor of wr's over cb's. Saban got to where his is by being a defensive mastermind so I have confidence with the players he gets to play cb big name or not.

lets not forget that we have a great defensive minded coach in Dom Capers, on our staff now. im sure Dom can make them a good pickup

I am not as worried about the CB position. Especially in our 3-4esque schemes to come. Remember the Patriots in the superbowl the last few years... Who the hell is Frank Poteat?! Zone schemes can be very easy for a player to follow. All we need is smart players, and Saban/Capers will make it work.

he did?? i thought he was also injured that year too. how did he do in 2004??

Played in 15 games. 31 tackles, 5 passes defensed, 1 sack, 0 INT. And had 1 kickoff return for 22 yards. He looked pretty solid. If he can get his speed back, he should be a good player for us in 2006.

He did well enough not to cause Saban to flinch about letting Surtain go..the kid was awesome.
