It is obvious to me that the Washington Redskins are in turmoil. While Kyle Shanahan was recruited as Offensive Coordinator to work under his Dad, it has generally been a disaster. The fun of working for his Dad with a first class prima donna must have been pure unadulterated hell. It is likely that Mike Shanahan will not be back as Head Coach and his replacement will surely want his guy as Offensive Coordinator. This could actually be a great opportunity to pick up a talented young coach who has something to prove. I am increasingly of the view that Tannehill may actually need a different Offensive Coordinator to accelerate his development. At times, Sherman's play calling is too predictable and too conservative. Pouncing on Kyle Shanahan could be a smart move. Welcome your thoughts.

I don't hate the idea. I live in the DC area and watch a lot of Redskins games; their offense hasn't been their problem MOST games. I've seen them put together some nice offensive showings, it's just hard to use your entire playbook when you play from behind every game.

I live in the area as well. Kyle is a big part of the issue as well. Daddy got him a good gig.......and he thinks he's better than what he is.

How about Mike Shula instead?

Hell No. Ask any Redskins fan and they cant wait for him to be gone.

Who?

The guy that destroyed RGIII career? (Over rated already)

While I would say, "Anyone but Sherman would be a plus," I am not sure if the young Shanahan is the man for the job. The NFL has been transitioning to a passing league over the past 15 years, and we would be better off with a young coach, maybe from the college ranks, who can take advantage of the rules as they are currently set up. Hurry up offenses like the kind the Patriots, Lions, Eagles run, have about 10+ extra plays per game, which is huge. I would love to bring in a coach like Art Briles of Baylor to be our HC, and not just the OC, but I doubt he would leave there.

Shermin is a decent coordinator, but not great. I am not so sure than anyone named Shanahan is an upgrade. I would rather take a chance on Jay Gruden.

I don't want Miami having anything to do with the Shanahan clan.
