Baltimore Orioles first baseman Rafael Palmeiro will be suspended by Major League Baseball for violating the league's steroids policy, ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney has confirmed with a league source.

did they catch him in the act? or was he still using this yr? if so, what an idiot...but there were incidents of certian protein powders such as nitro tech putting steroids in their powders "unintentially"..my buddy about a yr ago, noticed he was breaking out and getting way too big while being on nitro tech...so maybe the same thing happened, BUT i doubt it

He is definitely the biggest name. Especially with the milestone he hit this year with the hits. This definitely hurts his hall of fame chances. It is one thing to be suspected of it, but to fail a drug test is an entirely different thing. Maybe there are steroids in his viagra :tongue:

Right. He can easily say that he took the steroids after the hearing for the first time. It would be incredibly stupid of him to do that, stupider than using them in the first place, but there's no way to prove either/or and would get him off the hook.
